You are encouraged to do the actual dissection, but you have the option of simply utilizing the websites
below to find all 44 structures listed above. I want you to show me the 15 structures that are highlighted,
italicized, and underlined above for your 15 lab points; either by actual dissection or via internet
resources. I will put my initials next to each one of the fifteen structures listed above as you show me;
PLEASE show me this handout BEFORE you leave so I can record your lab grade – I will record “0” for
your lab grade if you fail to do so. You WILL be given all 44 structures to identify on the lab exam worth
30 points (lab exam is CLOSE note – you will NOT be allowed to utilize any lab handouts.
Use the following web sites to view pictures of the above anatomical terms of a rat:

(note there are 7 different segments to this site – use rat navigation bar to right side to visit all segments)

These pages will show you pictures of parts of a dissected rat with structures identified by numbers.
To quiz yourself, see if you can identify the numbered parts. You can then check your answers by
looking at another page which will show the same picture with all the parts labeled.

I also have identified a ppt of rat dissection (with additional hyperlinks built-in) that will be of assistance:
