COURSE: S222 LAW ENFORCEMENT DEVELOPMENT COURSE
AIM:
The personal development of participants and to make them aware
of
the critical issues in respect of the community, Human Resource
Management and Operational Policing.

Assistant Superintendents and officers of equivalent
rank
in the Disciplined services. Inspectors with at least
two
(2) years experience in that rank and who are seen as
having the potential to progress to the Gazetted
ranks.
Station Sergeants on the threshold of promotion to the
rank of Inspector.

of Law Enforcement interest. They formally present their findings
during the final week of the course.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
At the end of this course, participants will be able to:






Review leadership styles and consider how improvements can be
achieved through the application of transformational leadership
Critique a previous public order incident and identify areas where
improvement could have been made
Make decisions based on ethical standards and decision making models
Reflect upon the need to take responsibility for taking risk and high
consequence decisions
Reflect upon the behavioural characteristics of self and others and how
these can affect organizational performance
