¡Lets learn to travel!
Teacher will talk to students in English about
the unit that we will be doing. Students will
learn about dual flag rule before the class
starts and the teacher speaks Spanish. They
will also in English brainstorm a bit about
their knowledge about Spain and Europe. This
will be very relaxed getting them confortable
with Señorita Emily and their new lesson. The
teacher will then transition to what would be
the normal welcome circle of the day.
Welcome CircleTeacher will start off every class with the
welcome circle. Where they remember the
things that they learned, and get ready to learn
more Spanish. This is where the teacher will
bring out the Spanish flag, and then convert to
Spanish for the rest of the day. In this lesson,
the teacher will introduce to the idea of
traveling and what is necessary
Simon Says
Teacher will use Simon Says daily to help
students learn the parts of the body. The
teacher will say things like, “touch your
nose”, “touch your head” etc
During activities: Description
Lets build our own suitcase!
Teacher (in Spanish now) will help the
students learn the basic colors while they
build their own suitcase to travel with them
throughout the unit. Teacher will have
students design their suitcase with basic
colors. They will use one color on the one
side, another color on the other (Construction
paper will be cut to fit this)

Assessment (How are you assessing students throughout the lesson?)
Teacher will assess the students at the end with their ability to say the colors with
the suitcase. There is always a review at Morning Circle time, so they do not have
to worry about not fully knowing their colors.
Differentiation (How are you meeting the needs of different learners?)
-
Bodily-Kinesthetic: Students get to physically build their suitcase while engaging
with the colors that they are using
-
Verbal- Linguistic: Some of the kindergarteners have the ability to read,
therefore on the color starts that will always be in morning circle and used
throughout the unit, it will have the name of the color on it.
