The content of this course will include and extend the body of knowledge elements required to complete Airport Operations Safety. This course will encompass the study of the nature of airport operations and safety, as it applies to daily operations. Students will review the U.S Federal Regulations as they apply to different aspects of airport operations and safety, airport operations procedures, airport security, Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF), and related entities involved in airport mishaps. Textbook and Federal Regulations will be utilized throughout this course. Week 2: Instructor will post instructional comments (typically referred to as lecture notes) and points for discussion based on Chapter One of Ashford, Stanton, & Moore. Week 3: Instructor will post instructional comments and points for discussion, based on Chapter 2, paragraphs 3.1; 3.2; 3.3; and 3.4. Week 4: Instructor to post instructional comments and points for discussion, based on Chapter 5, sub paragraphs 5.1 and 5.2. Week 5: Mid-term examination: Two essays based on reading from the previous chapters and instructional comments. Each approximately 4 pages, double spaced.
