CONTRACT: Peter Pan
Performance Date/Time:
SATURDAY, June 9th 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Peter Pan will be a full length story ballet, not a traditional recital. Each class will be given different roles in the
ballet. Every dancer will perform in both shows. Length of dance time, difficulty of choreography, soloist roles,
etc., will be determined by the director. CBA requests that all dancers project a positive attitude about the part(s)
they are given. If a dancer or parent projects a negative attitude about a given part/dance the dancer will be asked to
forfeit the opportunity to perform with CBA. Learning how to “make the best” out of any given part is an important
lesson for any age dancer. The following parts have been given to classes and dancers:
Beginning Ballet A – Princess Crocodiles
Beginning Ballet B – Princess Pirates
Beginning Ballet C – Firefly Fairies
Intermediate Beginning – Enchanted Birds
Boys Class – Lost Boys
Ballet IA – Indian Princesses
Ballet IB – Sprites
Ballet II – Neverland Fairies
Ballet III – Mermaids
Ballet IV – Neverland Unicorns

details regarding specific rehearsals for your dancer.
Set Rehearsal Dates:
Saturday April 21st from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. (exact times for each class will be posted)
Saturday, May 5th from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. (exact times for each class will be posted)
Saturday, May 19th from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. (exact times for each class will be posted)
Mandatory Rehearsal – Saturday, June 2nd from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. (exact times for each class will be posted)
Rehearsals:
It is very important to continue with technical ballet training and not monopolize classroom time with only
learning choreography. Most rehearsals will take place the last 15 minutes of class. As the performance date draws
near a few Saturday afternoon rehearsals will be posted. These dates and times will be announced with as much
notice as is possible. CBA will be closed from Monday, March 26, 2007 through Saturday, March 31, 2007, for
Spring Break. In order for the show to be a success dancers need to attend their regularly scheduled class(es) and
plan to attend any extra rehearsals. All dancers must attend the dress rehearsal and dancers that miss more than four
(4) classes/rehearsals (between February 9th and June 9th) might not be allowed to perform and will forfeit their
nonrefundable performance fee. All classes and rehearsals between June 4th and June 9th are mandatory. Advanced
and ballet IV dancers should plan to attend a minimum of three days a week with at least eight hours of dancing in
order to participate in the show. Exceptions to this rule will and can be made by the discretion of the Director.
Advanced and ballet IV dancers will need to plan to attend Saturday rehearsals between 12:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.
when posted.
NO PHOTOGRAPHY, VIDEO, OR ANY TYPE OF RECORDING WILL BE ALLOWED
during rehearsals or shows. Flash photography is extremely dangerous to the dancers. Anyone found taking
unauthorized pictures/video, at the theater, will be asked to leave. Pictures CAN be taken in the hallway at the
theater; not from the side of the stage. During Dress Rehearsal parents will be allowed a 15 minute time slot to take
pictures of their dancer up on the stage. A professional photographer will be taking action shots that will be
available “on line” for purchase after the performance and a professional video recording of the show will also be
available for purchase.
Performance Fee/ Tuition:

Please make checks payable to : Classical Ballet Academy. Please write “performance fee” on the memo
portion of the check. All performance fees must be paid by February 26th. This fee is nonrefundable. This fee
contributes to all of the costs of putting on a production. It will cover the cost of renting costumes, extra rehearsal
time, and flowers. Renting costumes allows higher quality costumes to be worn at a fraction of the price of
purchasing costumes. Another advantage of renting costumes is to avoid purchasing expensive costumes that the
dancers will most likely grow out of in a year. This fee will also cover flowers that will be delivered to all dancers
back stage prior to the 7:00 p.m. show. All dancers will receive the same flowers from CBA (Advanced dancers
receive larger flowers, on stage, as is the protocol in ballet productions). If you wish to purchase additional flowers
please feel free to do so on your own – flowers will be available for purchase in the lobby the day of the show.
Merchandise: T-shirts and other merchandise will be available at the studio and at the shows.

all ages. The 7:00 p.m. performance is not recommended for children under the age of three. All audience members
will need to remain in their seats and observe proper theater etiquette and behavior during the shows. Peter Pan will
be approx. one and a half hours long (including intermissions).
Little Neverland:
All of the pre-ballet classes at Classical Ballet Academy will be given the opportunity to perform in a “low
key” environment on the stage. “Neverland” (all pre-ballet classes) will perform at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June
9th. Please come support the young dancers. Tickets for “Neverland” will be $5.00 general admission.
Volunteer Help:
In order to make this show a success CBA will rely on every parent to volunteer. Without parent support
the shows will be impossible. Most parents have very hectic schedules; if everyone contributes at least 10 hours
Peter Pan will be a success. Here is a short list of some of the volunteer opportunities available: basic sewing and
complicated sewing, ushering, ticket taking, selling tickets, soliciting sponsors for the program, set up/break down of
stage and sets, hanging posters advertising the show, back stage help with young dancers (women only), and many
more. If you are unable to volunteer we ask that you donate $40 to help with the production. There will be a parent
volunteer and informational meeting at the CBA studio on February 17 th between 1:00 and 2:00 p.m.
