Explain in one or two sentences what an operating system is and give an example of one.
An operating system, or OS, is a software program that enables the computer hardware to
communicate and operate with the computer software. Without a computer operating system, a
computer would be useless. ex ; Windows , Linux.

What are some of the jobs that an operating system might do?

show some bug messages thet you might face while working , organises tasks.

There are three main categories of application software. They are known as:
1- Word Processing Software.
2- Database Software.
3- Spread sheet Software.
TASK 6: GENERAL PURPOSE APPLICATIONS SOFTWARE
Explain briefly what this term means
Is a spreadsheet classified as an application or a development tool? Is a database
program an application or a tool? Well, technically they are application programs
with a high degree of programmability by people who really do not have to
be programmers in the purist sense. For example, a spreadsheet is an application
program used by financial professionals to keep track of balance sheets, employee
records, or company expenses.

Because they provide specific capabilities, but not in support of a specific purpose.
For example, a spreadsheet program is a general purpose application. It does
spreadsheets, but those could be spreadsheets that you use to balance your
checkbook, or manage your fantasy football league.

Explain what this term means and why people might choose to use this type of software
Its a huge program that contains a word processor, a spreadsheet, a database tool, and other
software applications in the same program, The advantages of an integrated package and why people
might use it is because derive from the fact that all the applications are part of the same program,
and were written by the same company. It should be relatively easy to use the parts of an integrated
package together. These programs tend to be smaller, older versions of larger programs, so they
might be less complicated to use.
TASK 9: TAILOR MADE OR BESPOKE SOFTWARE
Explain what this term means and why people might choose to use this type of software
Tailor made software is software the is made to the specifications of a client. In other words it is
custom made or 'tailored' to address a specific need, people would want to use it because it is
specialize in server-based tools offering outstanding quality, ease-of-use, long range
of formats and extreme speed.
