Dear Karen Sweeney,

I am writing this letter to apply for the Child Support Services Agent position that is advertised on the State of Georgia Merit System Web Site. I have worked in the customer service industry for several years in various capacities, including, an Administrative Assistant, Guest Service

Representative, PBX Operator, and a Real Estate Consultant.

While reading the job description of what you are looking for in a Child Support Services Agent, the phrase that really stood out for me was your requirement for strong customer service orientation. As a current realtor who has assisted numerous of clients throughout the home buying or selling process by going beyond what is requested from either party, such as, purchasing a refrigerator or paying for an inspection to ensure that the buyer and seller exceed to closing without out in problems, I believe that description fits me perfectly.

I began working for Harry Norman Realtors while attending college on a fulltime basis. While performing this job, I took advantage of the many training opportunities that my company offered, and continued to work towards my college degree. After a while, I wanted to seek a parttime job opportunity and that’s when I started working for Marriott Evergreen Conference Center and Resort where I started in an entry level position as a PBX Operator; however, I continued to use every educational resource I could find to improve my level of knowledge and performance in the Real Estate Industry. In addition to certificates these efforts earned me multiple awards for work performance, including Agent of the year 2006 with the most closed units, Agent of the month May 2007, and Million Dollar Council 2005.

To my way of thinking, work and school are complementary and the lessons from one should be applied to the other. I’ve brought my efficiency and dedication from work to the classroom and have applied the management and technical skills from the classroom to work with me everyday.

I am looking for another environment that will provide a challenge, and for management occupations which will allow me to further develop as a person in my career. I look forward to the opportunity to speak with you about bringing my proven ambition and drive to your company.

Sincerely,

Cornelia D. Hammond

Dear Mr. Klein,

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for interviewing me for the position of

Front Office Manager at the Atlanta Downtown Renaissance. I enjoyed meeting with you and I learned a great deal about the differences of a traditional Marriott Conference

Center and Resort and The Renaissance properties that have joined together with Marriott

International Hotels.

This position sounds very interesting and I am confident that my education and experience have provided me with the qualifications necessary to work effectively with your team. I am especially pleased to know that you use the Profit Management

Computer software, as I have experience with this software since employed by the

Marriott Evergreen Conference Resort.

Once again, thank you for the opportunity to interview for a position with your company.

I am excited about the prospect of working with such a dedicated team of professionals.

If you request any additional information, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you for your time and consideration, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Cornelia D. Hammond

Employment Project

Project Assessment

The aim of my resume is to impress upon a prospective employer at the Atlanta

Downtown Renaissance about my experience of working in the hotel industry and the contribution that I will make at this particular hotel being that I have worked for the company for over four years. In this resume and cover letter, I am telling my potential employer what I am able to bring to the company to better assist their organization. My cover letter is very detailed and explains how long I have been working in the industry and my resume is a reference to know and understand the many computer software programs that I have become familiar with while working with the company.

I am stressing to the potential employer that I am experienced with working under

Marriott International Hotels and Resorts and being that the Atlanta Downtown Renaissance is a

Conference Center owned by Marriott International hotels, I am an extreme benefit because, not only will I bring leadership qualities, I am already trained in a full service hotel that uses the exact same computer software which means that there is less time to spend on the technical part of the job, resulting in more time for me to be able to develop my future staff to the highest form as well as working together with my potential team to make the Atlanta Downtown Renaissance an even better property, not only for business, but also for a great working environment. My advantages over other candidates seem as if they may be stronger, so I chose to take the approach to stress my skills technically as well as having previous leadership experience with Marriott

International Properties.
