Grades
Grades will be based on the following areas:
Tests = 40%
Labs = 20%
Quizzes = 20%
Homework/Class work = 20%
The final average of all weighted evaluations will be converted to a letter grade based on
the following scale: 90% and above ~ A, 80% and above ~ B, 70% and above ~ C, 60%
and above ~ D.
Late work policy
Homework and class work will not be accepted late. It is due at the beginning of class.
Not at the end of the class/end of the day. Zero credit will be given to late assignments.
Academic Dishonesty
Getting help with or working together on homework and labs is acceptable, but copying
someone’s work is not. Cheating on labs, study guides, exams and quizzes will not be
tolerated and will result in all active parties involved receiving a zero for the
assignment/evaluation. Please review school policy on plagiarism and the honor code
and know that cheating carries with it many consequences.
Course Materials
Campbell & Reece Biology 7th Edition – Bring to class daily
3 ring binder (at least 1” to an 1 and 1/2” thickness)
Review book
Quad ruled composition notebook for labs and free response questions
AP Biology Exam Information
Taking the AP Biology Exam at the end of the course is not required. The test date is
Monday May 10th 2010. The test has two parts: Multiple Choice and Free Response
(essay). The Multiple choice consists of 100 questions to be answered in 1 hour and 20
minutes. The Free Response section has 4 essay questions to be answered in 1 hour and
30 minutes.
