(1) This page contains some general explanations and further information on this template. Please

the national funding organisations.
(4) Funding agencies may not necessarily participate in all areas of the call, some have budget
limitations, some have special regulations. We strongly recommend consulting the specific
information at the JPND website
(http://www.neurodegenerationresearch.eu/initiatives/jpcofund/call-for-proposals/country-specificdetails) and contacting the respective national contact persons listed in the “call text”
document.
(5) No annex is allowed in addition to this template. If any annex is attached, it will not be
considered.
(6) Electronic submission is mandatory (https://www.pt-it.de/ptoutline/application/JPCOFUND).
The electronic submission system will close at 23:59h C.E.T. on March 10, 2015. Pre-proposals
that do not meet the deadline will be rejected.
(7) It is absolutely mandatory to meet the format of this template when preparing the pre-proposal.
A formal check will be conducted after the submission deadline. Pre-proposals not meeting the
formal criteria will be rejected without further review.

Patient and Public Involvement (PPI)
Applicants should use the section to describe how patients, carers and the public have been and will be
involved in the planning, design and application of the proposal. Incorporation of a PPI element is
mandatory for work on longitudinal cohort studies (topic 2) and strongly advised for the area on risk and
protective factors (topic 1).You will find more information about PPI at the JPND website

Gender-related and socio-economic factors
Please explain if you consider socio-economic factors, gender-related research questions or
comorbidities, and incorporate these factors when formulating research hypotheses, aims and work
plans.
Training of young researchers and mobility
Training of young researchers and mobility (e.g. researcher exchanges for students and postdoctoral
researchers with the aim of learning new techniques in other laboratories) within the consortia are
encouraged. Please provide information of activities, if applicable.
Ethical issues
Do you plan research with human participants? Is research using animals planned? Please provide
