MEL MORRIS
uDate.com CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER, PRESIDENT AND DIRECTOR
Co-founder, President and Chief Executive of uDate.com, Mel Morris is a
seasoned entrepreneur, with over 25 years experience in Information
Technology.
Mel founded “uDate” in 1999 following 12 years as Chief Executive of
Prometrics Ltd (formally Minitech Ltd), which he built from start-up in 1985.
During this time, Prometrics was declared the UK’s 3rd fastest growing
privately held company by the Sunday Times and Price Waterhouse.
In
1991/2 Prometrics attained revenues of $20M with pre-tax profits in excess
of $5M.
Before joining Prometrics Ltd, Mel held prominent senior positions in the
software and design and development divisions of Wang Laboratories Inc. as
well as holding IT Consulting and Performance Analysis positions with
several Fortune 500 companies.
MARTIN CLIFFORD
uDate.com CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER, EXECUTIVE VICE-PRESIDENT AND DIRECTOR
With over 15 years experience in management, business, strategy and
finance, Martin is currently Chief Operating Officer, Executive Vice-President
and Director of uDate.com.
During his career, Martin has held a number of senior positions within
influential companies. Prior to joining uDate.com, Martin was Senior Business
Manager for the Yale Group, part of Williams Plc, the international
conglomerate trading on the London Stock Exchange, where he was
responsible for global mergers and acquisition strategy across the Yale
Group.
Martin began his career as a graduate engineer with BAA Plc, in the field of
project management, moving on to join John Savage Associates as Project
Manager, orchestrating various complex projects during the property boom
of the 1980’s.

TOBY ROWLAND
uDate.com VICE PRESIDENT GLOBAL COMMUNICATIONS
Toby Rowland, is Vice President of Global Communications for uDate.com
and is responsible for uDate’s PR and IR worldwide. He is the first point of
contact for journalists interested in uDate.com, and responds to emails sent
to press@udate.com.
With over ten years experience in Marketing and Communications, Toby
brings to uDate.com a wealth of aggressive brand building and business
development expertise.
Toby joined uDate.com from UK advertising and marketing agency, HERESY
where he was Business Development Director and Principal Consultant.
During his time at HERESY, Toby introduced over £1million of new business
and raised over £20million in funding.
Previous to this, he was the high profile co-founder of Clickmango.com and
was responsible for growing the business into a household name. Prior to
Clickmango.com he spent several years at Walt Disney TV, marketing and
developing Disney channels across Europe.
SAMANTHA BEDFORD
uDate.com VICE PRESIDENT SALES AND MARKETING (US)
Samantha is uDate.com’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing (US),
responsible for an 8 figure annual marketing spend. Joining uDate.com as
VP of Global Marketing in July 2000, she negotiated and secured the online
deals that have taken uDate to its current position.
Samantha joined uDate.com from Emap plc where she held a number of roles
including Head of Ecommerce, Marketing Director for Piccadilly Radio and
Head of Marketing for Radio Sales.
Prior to Emap plc, Samantha spent two years at McCann Erickson where she
worked as a planner/buyer for clients such as Sony and Time Computers.
