The Tsinghua MBA program is one of the most prestigious programs in the People's Republic of China, which was first
launched in 1991. There are three MBA programs at Tsinghua SEM: international, full-time and part-time. The
International MBA program is an entirely English program and is in collaboration with MIT Sloan School of Management.
Overseas students account for one-third in this program. Both MIT Sloan and Tsinghua SEM provide International MBA
Program candidates with greater opportunities to learn international communication skills, to gain access to international
business practices and to develop a better understanding of China’s role. Tsinghua SEM MBA graduates have become
active participants in the development of China’s economy.
Undergraduate Programs
Tsinghua SEM offers two bachelor’s degrees (Management and Economics), which are conferred to students of four
majors: information management and information systems, finance, economics and accounting. By now, SEM has a total
of 847 registered undergraduate students, of which 59 are International students.
Tsinghua SEM undergraduate programs aim to equip students with comprehensive fundamental theories and specialized
knowledge in economics and management, which will prepare them for further studies and future careers.
Currently, Tsinghua SEM has built up student exchange program with over 73 universities from 26 countries and areas.
Students from partner schools can join International MBA Program at Tsinghua SEM for one-semester exchange in both
spring and fall semester.

Tsinghua University
Tsinghua University, located in the northwestern suburbs of Beijing, was established in 1911 on the site of "Qing Hua
Yuan" - a former royal garden of the Qing Dynasty. Funded with part of the "Boxer Indemnity," it was at first a preparatory
school called "Tsinghua Xuetang" for those students who were sent by the government to study in the United States.
The university's motto of Self-discipline and Social Commitment has inspired many generations of Tsinghua teachers and
students to struggle for the prosperity of China. Now, striving to build Tsinghua University into a world-class university by
its 100th anniversary in 2011 has become the objective of each member of the teaching staff and the student body.

Facts on Beijing
Beijing, the capital of the People's Republic of China, is the center of the nation's politics, culture and international
exchanges. From the beginning of the 10 th century, the city had been the capital of the Liao, Jin, Yuan, Ming and Qing
dynasties until 1911. A long history has left numerous famous historical sites, which possess great aesthetic and cultural
valleys. The Great Wall, a huge project more than 2000 years ago, not only continues for hundreds of kilometers, but also
can even be seen from space. The Forbidden City, the largest ancient architectural complex extant today, is splendid
crystallization of ancient Chinese architectural art. Tian'anmen Square, located in the city center, is a symbol of both
Beijing and China. The solemn flag-raising ceremony has become a sacred daily celebration. Standing in the world's
largest city square and looking east and west on Chang'an Avenue, one can see a century-old architectural complex
standing side by side with newly-built modern-style buildings, torrent of bicycles flooding by and awareness that Beijing is
a mix of modem and ancient.
Beijing has a continental climate. Annual rainfall averages nearly 700 millimeters; most of it comes in July and August.
Winter is dry and has little snow. The frost -free period is 185 days. The best time to visit Beijing is May, September and
October, when people enjoy bright and sunny day.

Tsinghua SEM Forum
Government officials, prominent business leaders and distinguished scholars are frequent visitors to Tsinghua SEM.
Taking this advantage, Tsinghua SEM initiated the “Secondary Classroom” program in 1997, creating a combined
learning context of the school, enterprises and society. Up to date hundreds of scholars and successful entrepreneurs
from various fields have been invited to lecture at Tsinghua SEM on a wide range of topics, including business
management, economic situations, latest theoretical developments and social-cultural issues. These forums, lectures and
seminars have become an important part of the educational approach at Tsinghua SEM.
Student Services Available
Orientation: There is a two-day orientation held by the International Office. There are some introductions on Tsinghua
SEM, academic rule, IT support and one-day city tour during the orientation. It enables every student to better understand
the basic skills that a professional manager must possess. It also helps students to quickly fit into the new environment
and get familiar with the learning methods to be used in the following study.
Buddy Program: We would like to carry on a buddy system designed to promote intercultural understanding and
friendship between Tsinghua local students and international students with diverse background. We hope to provide
transitional support for new international students and to create a community of free communication at Tsinghua. As
newly-arrived international students, friendly support is every essential during the cultural transition to China. We try to
establish an informal network in students and improve their cross-cultural communication.
Career Development Center (CDC): Career Development Center is a functional office of our school. CDC provides
career services to MBA participants, undergraduate and graduate students of our school and employers. Exchange
students can find some open recruiting information on the official website of our school, and are welcome to join in the
open recruiting forum held by CDC. Please pay attention that CDC does not provide personal career services to
exchange students.
