The Scientific Method
Use the descriptions of each step of the Scientific Method to help guide your thinking.
Problem or Question: This is the reason for your experiment. What are
you trying to find out?
Hypothesis/Prediction: This is what you think is going to happen in your
experiment.
Materials: What do you need to complete the experiment?
Procedure: What steps did you take to complete the experiment? List all
the steps in order so that someone else could do your experiment. If you
would like to take pictures of your experiment and display them, you may.
Results: Chart, graph or write your data so that someone else can
understand what happened in your experiment.
Conclusion: Write an explanation of what happened in your experiment.
Your conclusion should answer the problem or question that was stated at
the beginning of your experiment.
