Sr. Business Development Executive
First Derivatives (FD) is a leading provider of products and consulting services to the
capital markets industry with 500+ staff globally and ambitious expansion plans.
Focused on financial institutions that work cross-asset, often with multi-system and/or
high volume trading activities, the Company scopes, designs, develops, implements and
supports a broad range of mission critical data and trading systems across front, middle
and back-office operations.
FD is hiring a Senior Business Development Executive to support our North American
Capital Markets Consulting Practice growth. This critical role is responsible for
identifying new target clients, high visibility projects, building our funnel of executive
relationships and taking market share from our competition. This role will also be
responsible to support our NA branding as a leading Capital Markets Engineering
solution provider by winning complex and complete projects within our client’s middle
and back office initiatives.
Responsibilities:
The Sr. Business Development Executive will be responsible for achieving sales targets
of 3 to 4 million of consulting revenue in the first 15 months thru the following tactics:





New Business Development
Current Account Expansion
Existing and New Partnerships
Current MSA Arrangements
RFP Evaluation and Response if it makes business sense
Specifics:







Generate sales opportunities by identifying appropriate business targets,
engage opportunity, execute a strategic sales process, and manage the prospect
through the transition to service delivery
Identify appropriate pursuit teams and engage the opportunity as a team
Partner with the NA Practice Leaders, Program Managers, Lead Generator
and Marketing resources to develop strategies and campaigns for new revenue
Partner with NA Recruitment Team to ensure proper resources outside of our
current Capital Markets Consulting Bench
Attend and contribute to marketing strategy sessions and weekly Business
Development meetings
Actively involve yourself the in the Capital Markets business community to
scope out strategic and service needs for firm
Participate in the FD Mentorship Program to support the development of Lead
Generation and Marketing support staff
Qualifications:














A minimum of 6+ years of experience selling management and technology
consulting projects, in particular projects involving strategy, technology and/or
business process improvement in Capital Markets.
Extensive experience selling consulting (SOW) solutions to Middle and Back
Office functions: Risk, Treasury, Legal, Data and/or IT functions within
Capital Markets is key to success
Experience with using CRM tools as part of daily activity
Ability to effectively manage lead generation activity
Ability to speak with C-level executives and very senior IT executives
Ability to establish new client relationships through strategic direct to
market contact, networking and prospecting techniques via research based
tools.
Demonstrated successful sales record by consistently achieving or exceeding
assigned sales quotas
Demonstrate persistence and the ability to overcome obstacles; self-starter
Ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment
Experience with Partnerships is a plus
Must have experience in qualifying and responding to RFPs when applicable
Strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills, ability to
build rapport and credibility quickly with an executive-level audience.
Knowledge of the latest trends in the Capital Markets industry and solid
grounding in business concepts and dynamics (i.e. Asset Class, Compliance and
Treasury Technology knowledge)
Membership and participation in Capital Markets business community
associations.
