How do you pay for the program?
In the first days of your session, you may pay the balance due on your course by:
 Personal cheque payable to Centre Linguistique
 Credit card (Visa - MasterCard)
 Debit/Bank card

How is the program structured?
The course is designed to help you develop your conversational skills and improve your listening comprehension,
vocabulary and grammar. To meet these objectives we use a variety of teaching strategies and classroom activities
based on the communicative and action orientated approach.

How will my level be assessed?
You will be required to take an online placement test geared towards evaluating your oral comprehension which will
then be followed by a validation interview with one of our teachers on the first day of the program.
4.
After Class!
The Saguenay region offers a wide variety of activities throughout the year. Check your calendar to discover activities included in your program. See next page for a detailed list.

Where will you stay?
All participants will stay with host families in Jonquiere. Our host families are well known and appreciated for their
hospitality and their kindness. You will have two meals a day with them, breakfast and dinner. Some of our host
families are located away from the college and public transit is available. You can buy a bus passes at the CEGEP
book store.
6.
Where will you eat?
Breakfast and dinner are to be taken with your host family. Monday through Friday, lunch is available at the college
cafeteria with a meal card. his meal card is NON-TRANSFERABLE.
7.
What to pack ?
To get the most out of your stay in Jonquiere, we suggest you bring the following:
 School supplies (dictionary, pens pencils ect.)
 Personal hygiene products (soap, shampoo, ect.)
 Camera
 Footwear for the sports you want to do
 Swimsuit
 Swim cap (mandatory in all public pools in Quebec)
 Beach towel
 Sportswear
 Walking shoes
 Backpack
 Sun screen
 Tablet, portable computer or note book

How to be reached during the program?
The numbers where you can be reached are:

hours, during lunch hours and weekends).

You are permitted to give your host family's phone number to your relatives and friends. No phone number of any
host family will be given by employees of the Centre linguistique or of the College. (Government policy, see access
to information act).

10. When should you arrive?
You should plann to arrive at the will main entrance of the Collège de Jonquière (Door A), 2505 rue St-Hubert,
Jonquière between 4 pm and 11 pm on Sunday before the program. A team will be there to welcome you and
introduce you to your host family.
The first day of school will be Monday, we will be waiting for you at 8:15 am at (Door A)
