As we arrive at the end of our 2007-08 Season, Rover Dramawerks continues to experience incredible growth! We are about to begin our ninth year of production, presenting six exciting full length mainstage shows (one in the Courtyard
Theater!) and two One Day Only 24-hour play festivals next season, not to mention all the classes (for kids and adults) and community outreach with such organizations as CITY House and Communities in Schools.
However, with growth comes more expense, and we need your help. Ticket sales cover only a small part of the cost of a production. Won’t you consider making a

Mikey Abrams happily makes his Rover Dramawerks debut. His regional credits include shows with Garland Summer Musicals, Stage West, Uptown Players,
Theatre Arlington, Hip Pocket Theatre, and the Granbury Opera House. Mikey has worked in New York as an actor and singer in venues at Dixon Place and Don’t Tell
Mama’s where he has performed for such talents as Nathan Lane, Rosie O’
Donnell, and Elaine Paige. By day, he is co-director of the Raider Theatre
Department at North Garland High School. He thanks Carol and the lively cast of
Shakespeare in Hollywood for making him feel welcome in a non-musical, and
Scott for “letting him get this out of his system.”
Gary Anderson makes his encore appearance with Rover after performing in last spring's The Runner Stumbles. Past credits include To Kill a Mockingbird (Atticus
Finch), Much Ado About Nothing (Benedick), The Heiress (Dr. Sloper), Macbeth
(title role), A Christmas Carol (Scrooge) and Noises Off (Lloyd Dallas). In "real" life, Gary is a graphic artist with a Dallas marketing agency and enjoys time spent outdoors and rooting on the Cowboys and Mavericks. Thanks to my beautiful wife
Karin and my three kids Clayton, Lindsey and Sarah for all of their love and support.
This is Vic Case's first production with Rover. He had so much fun in the Rover
Improv! class that he wanted to be in a play with them! He has previously been seen at Ennis Public Theatre in three productions. Thanks to Carol for the opportunity to be part of such a terrific cast.

Uta Hagen is considered not only one of the great actors of the 20 th
century, but also one of the most respected acting teachers, having taught some of the greats, including Al Pacino and Robert DeNiro. Many actors are familiar with the names Meisner and Stanislavsky as acting teachers who espoused two different schools of acting, yet Uta Hagen’s method is another train of thought altogether. Her technique of substitution or “transference” will be explored, as well as understanding how to create a convincing portrayal of a role through the character's “actions.” The class will include a low impact, body strengthening warm-up at the beginning of each session, and the six week course will end with a performance showcase. Tuition: $195

Robin Daffinee Coulonge is happy to be acting again. Robin has worked backstage for the past 20 years (most recently as AD/SM for Gilligan’s Island: the Musical for

Suzi Cranford and Dallas Costume Shoppe are very happy to be working with Rover
Dramawerks for the first time. Other recent credits include designs for Uptown
Players, Mesquite Community Theatre, Irving Community Theatre, Richland
Community College, KD Studios, and Garland Summer Musicals. Suzi started her costume design career in 2002. She wishes to thank Carol M. Rice and Rover
Dramawerks for this wonderful opportunity.
Rick Dalton is very excited to return to Rover Dramawerks in the role of Will Hays.
Rick has been acting in Dallas/Ft. Worth for over 10 years, performing in theaters such as Garland Civic Theatre, Richardson Theatre Centre, and Irving Community Theatre.
Previously at Rover he was Matthew in Private Eyes and Ben in Little Footsteps.
However, Rick's favorite role is that of Daddy! I.L.Y.D.A.D.D.
Claude Diaz has been in “the biz” for over 50 years, having stumbled into hair and makeup design by accident when he was 17. Since then, he has worked in theatre, film, and opera all over the United States. The stories he could tell you about famous stars.... As he puts it, “I hate them all.” We’re just glad he’s decided he loves US!

Alejandro de la Costa has previously worked as set designer for Rover Dramawerks’ production of Surviving Grace. His stylized and bold set design for the award winning
Queer Anarchy was acclaimed not just as a set but as an art installation at the
McKinney Avenue Contemporary and was exhibited as such during non-performance times. He’s primarily worked with MBS Productions doing the set designs for all their productions, and he received a Column Award nomination for his accurate period recreation of a 1942 home for the play …a moment in the life of Willa Dee Arvis. He's also the playwright of the wildly popular 13 plays which are part of the Theatre of
Death shows for MBS. He was the director of the highly successful play Kiss the
Boys, and this December he will be directing the comedy The Beulaville Baptist Book
Club Presents: A Bur-les-Q Nutcracker!
Matthew J. Edwards has been with Rover Dramawerks since their second show!
(And they haven't been able to get rid of him since.) He's been a costumer/actor/ board member/director/painter/sound designer/choreographer/writer involved in at least 15 Rover productions. Writing is his recent passion; he's currently finishing his third full-length play, and blames Carol for getting him hooked.

Shane Hamlin is extremely excited to be making his debut with Rover Dramawerks!
Slipping into the role of Oberon and getting to know the amazing cast of Shakespeare
in Hollywood has been an honor and a great pleasure for him. Shane has been seen in theatres throughout Dallas, recently in roles as varied as Dr. Seward in Dracula for
ICT to Sheriff Goode in Attack of the Killer Mutant Leeches at the Pocket Sandwich.

Timothy Irle is excited to be part of another fantastic comedy. He was last seen as
Tom in Tom, Dick and Harry at the Pocket Sandwich Theatre. Other favorite roles include Duke in M.A.S.H. and Oliver in As You Like It. He would like to thank Brandi for all her support.
K'Lee Kuopus performed and did tech work in plays such as The Night Thoreau
Spent in Jail, Charlotte's Web, The Emperor's New Clothes and Chamber Music throughout high school and was a member of National Thespian Honor Society. She is currently pursuing a BA in theatre education.
Alex Lensch is currently enrolled as a senior at North Garland High School. He is actively engaged in the technical theater program there, and he is also the secretary/ historian of Thespian Troop 2426. His college plans include studying stage managing and lighting design. He would like to thank Carol Rice for giving him the opportunity to participate with such a talented group of people.
Heather Jo Matthews graduated from New Mexico State University with a BA in
Theatre Arts with an emphasis in Stage Management. This is her second show with
Rover and she couldn't be happier! Gilligan's Island: the Musical was a blast, and she is thrilled to be working with such fun and outgoing people again. She has enjoyed every minute of rehearsal and is thankful to be a part of Shakespeare in Hollywood.

A court appointed psychologist is assigned to determine the sanity of a babysitter who is being charged with brutally murdering two children. Since the young woman has no recollection of the shocking event, to facilitate remembrance, the psychologist places her under hypnosis.
The crime she describes confirms her involvement in a brutal murder but not of the two children she's accused of but of two others. The mystery deepens as the young girl proceeds to reveal more details of this new crime and the police are unable to locate the victims. Is her recollection faulty? Has the psychologist inadvertently created a false memory thus making an innocent person now guilty? Or is the girl actually a serial killer caught? Thrill as the mystery unravels & you discover if her memories are part of a dream or if they happen while she was awake. like to thank her husband, William and her parents for all their support, encouragement and love. More importantly she would like to dedicate her work in the show to her sister. In times of pain we must still be able to laugh. Thank you to everyone - it's been a wonderful experience!
Patrick S. O'Neil is thrilled to be working with Rover again. This is his first show with
Rover and, in fact, his first non-high school theatre show since last summer's Musical
Comedy Murders of 1940, for which he was master carpenter. Patrick is the theatre director at Prosper High School and has been teaching theatre at various high schools and middle school for the past eight years. He has been happily married for almost a year now to his lovely wife Richelle.
Julie Osborne is excited to be working with Rover Dramawerks for the second time.
She was previously seen as Sister Rita in The Runner Stumbles. A few favorite roles include: Twelfth Night (Viola), The Tempest (Iris), Shakespeare and the Written Word
(Juliet/ Dancer), Sonnets in Spring (Featured Dancer/Ensemble), all with Shakespeare
Dallas; The Glory of Living (Angie) with Second Thought Theatre; Romeo and Juliet
(Rosaline) with Classical Acting Company; and Harms Way (Isle of Mercy) and
Vinegar Tom (Alice) with Studio One Productions in NYC. Julie is represented by The
Tomas Agency. Thanks to my family for all their love and support.
Carol M. Rice is the Artistic Director of Rover Dramawerks, as well as one of the cofounders, and has been involved in some way with every show Rover has done. She appeared in Everything in the Garden as Jenny and Woman in Mind as Susan, and directed Gilligan’s Island: the Musical, Frame 312, Morphic Resonance, and Lady
Windermere’s Fan, to name a few. Some of her favorite directing efforts elsewhere include Noises Off, Witness for the Prosecution, The Compleat Works of Wllm Shkspr
(abridged), Inherit the Wind, and The Foreigner, and she will be directing The Star-
Spangled Girl and Epic Proportions for Rover next season. Carol is also a produced playwright, but her favorite roles are Wife to best friend Jason and Mommy to 6½-yearold Stephen and 4-year-old Scott.

Monica Rivera is thrilled to make her DFW debut with Rover Dramawerks. She attended St. Edward's University and majored in Theatre with an Acting Emphasis.
After college she moved around to Los Angeles, Chicago and eventually back to her home outside of Houston. It was there that she met the cream to her coffee while playing Evalita in Daddy's Dyin' Who's Got the Will? She would like to thank her
Mom and Dad and her beloved Kenny for all their love and support.
Patsy McGregor Sadowski teaches singing privately to adults and teens, and her work with vocal technique for non-classical singers leads her to theater. In 2008,
Patsy served as music director for The Lovers, presented by MBS Productions and
Rover’s production of Gilligan’s Island: the Musical. She is delighted to make her acting debut with Rover’s Shakespeare in Hollywood. Patsy holds a master’s degree in vocal pedagogy from Texas Woman’s University, and she continues her studies in vocal pedagogy at Shenandoah University. She holds the highest certification in Somatic Voicework® The LoVetri Method, and she continues to work with New York teacher and author Jeanette LoVetri. She would like to thank her family, especially Jim, for their encouragement and support.
Mark-Brian Sonna has worked as an actor, playwright, director, choreographer, and theatre producer for over 25 years. Most recently he appeared as Man in
Persistence in Memory, and as Satan in the stage adaptation of Dante: Inferno, which he translated from the original Italian text. He directed Queer Anarchy, which went on to win the Voice Award as Best Play of the Year for 2007. He is Artistic

. His upcoming play Dream Awake will have its world premiere this October. This December he will be reprising the role of Dickey in his
Column Award nominated play, The Beulaville Baptist Book Club Presents: A Bur-

Kevin Wickersham hails from the 703 district of Midland, TX. He is quite excited to be appearing on stage in Plano after a three year run of shows in Denton in such shows as A Midsummer Night's Dream and The Nerd. Kevin would like to thank

Everyone I know who has ever worked with Alison Davies adored her. I know I did. I met her about 15 years ago, having the privilege of directing her in The Musical Comedy
Murders of 1940 at ICT. It was only when we worked together again in 2003 on Rover’s production of Lady
Windermere’s Fan that I discovered she was a championship swimmer.
Shortly afterwards, I also found out she was battling cancer.
What really surprised me was finding out that she first beat her cancer in 1985.
When the cancer came out of remission about two years ago, it was contained by surgery and radiation. Alison celebrated her second recovery, got new head shots, and dusted off her resume. But her luck was running out.
After an extended trip “Down Under” Alison became ill again in February. For months she battled symptoms and faced chemo with declining energy, until a final surgery determined that the cancer was too extensive to remove.
The body of a competitive swimmer does not go readily and fought her resignation for several weeks.
Alison passed away on August 16, 2008. Her family returned her to New Zealand. Kiwis always return to their territory.
Alison worked with nearly every major theatre in the region, and many of the minor and fleeting companies throughout her extensive theatrical career.
Rover alone boasts her involvement in four productions: Lady Windermere's Fan,
Love From a Stranger, Surviving Grace, The Musical Comedy
Murders of 1940, and One Day Only 3!
As she has performed the work of Ken Ludwig many times,
Rover Dramawerks would like to dedicate the run of his
Shakespeare in Hollywood to her memory, including a Memory Book for her family, (located in the lobby), to which we ask members of the theatre community to contribute. If you knew this wonderful lady, please share an anecdote or story about Alison in the Memory Book.
