IPS Language Requirement
In order to earn the M.A. degree in International Policy Studies, students must be proficient in a second language. Second language proficiency can be demonstrated by completing three years of university-level coursework in a second language (verified by
a transcript), passing an oral and written proficiency exam at Stanford prior to graduation, or having status as a non-native English
speaker.

A confidential letter of support from a Stanford faculty member

Statement of Purpose (2-3 pages, double-spaced, which details your background, your interest in adding the IPS program to
your course of study, and your career goals)

A list of the quantitative coursework you completed during your undergraduate studies and while at the GSB in macroeconomics, microeconomics, statistics, econometrics, and finance and trade (including any international finance or trade courses)
•
A current resume or CV
