Saudi Marketing Company Limited (SAMCO) is one of the leading companies in the field of retail,
trading, and importing business in Saudi Arabia. Established in 1978 with its very first retail outlet, "Farm
Superstores“ located in Dammam, Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. Farm Superstores operates a chain of
39 supermarkets/branches concentrated in the Eastern, Western and Southern provinces of Saudi Arabia,
in addition to the 13 mini markets serving prestigious and exclusive residential compounds.
In 2006, Farm Superstores opened its first overseas branch in Lebanon at Beirut mall. It is considered as
one of the biggest retail outlets in Lebanon, where it holds a total floor area of 8000 sqm. Currently, it
has more than 2000 employees of various nationalities from 14 different countries. Our current sales
volume is more than nine hundred million Saudi Riyals (S.R 900M) presenting a 24% annual growth.
Farm Superstores carries an extensive and wide-range of products and items (over 60,000 different
items); from fresh produce to grocery items, household items, etc. which provides distinct needs of
consumers, Items and products of which came from different continents around the world (Asia, Africa,
Europe, North & South America).

Business Need
SAMCO wanted to accelerate the process of receiving and transferring inventory. It was
looking for a solution which can help it in carrying out transactions on wireless devices
at the point of use, offering real time transaction processing, improving the data
accuracy and increasing mobility and convenience.
Our Solution
• Evosys provided solution for SAMCO with the standard functionality along with the
required personalization.
• Mapping of the barcodes and utilizing the supplier barcodes without generating new
barcode labels
• Updation of Barcode Data automatically through a concurrent program.
• Developed new Mobile Page for receiving or returning inventory without purchase order
which was being used in their current system
• Our solution also includes development of customization on inquiry of item page in order to
extract Sales Price of the respective item which they are having in the current system.
Challenges Faced
• SAMCO had the requirement of Mobile Device enabled SCM processes. This was a very big
challenge.
• SAMCO had implemented Supply Chain Management solution with a lot of
Customizations. These Customizations had to be included in MSCA Solution also.

• Receipt and transfer of any item will be only with Supplier Bar Code.
• The process of receiving and transfer got accelerated .
• Improvement in operational productivity and reduce costs through process automation.
• With this solution SAMCO will have accurate, up to date inventory information by using
barcode scanning for data entry.
