METHOD STATEMENTS:
Rectification Works @ HM facility Building
I-
Water Proofing of Roof Deck.
I.1 Cleaning, Chipping.
 The area to rectify shall be wire-brushed; the previously laid mortar
sealant at the corner joints shall also be chipped.
 The area shall be thoroughly cleaned from chippings, concrete dust and
other laitance.
I.2 Application of sealant Supercast SWX.
 The corner joint between the floor slab and masonry wall shall applied, filled
with the sealant. Application instructions are provided in the annexes.
I.3 Application of Chemicals (Sealants, Bonding agents).
 The area shall be made dry prior to application of Nitrobond SBR Latex, a selfleveling mortar and concrete bonding agent. Extent of application shall
cover the entire floor deck up to 50mm of the masonry wall, (the contact
level of new screed and the existing masonry wall). Applications instructions
are provided in Annex AA of Handover report.
I.4 Concrete Screed, 50mm
 Concrete screed of mix 1:2:3 shall be laid 50mm thick on 3% grade to
downpipe side, leveled and trowel finished. The poured screed has been left
to cure by not less than seven (7) days, covering the entire area by watersoaked ghoni bags.
I.5 Application of Waterproofing, Sealant.
 After the concrete curing, the application of the waterproofing coat shall
commence.
 Application instructions are provided in the annexes.
II-
Repair of Cracks on Masonry Walls.
II.1 Cutting, chipping of crack line
 V-grooves of 25mm wide and 12mm deep shall be cut along the crack lines
on the masonry walls. The extent of cuttings shall be ensured that it can be
filled with the appropriate sealant and completed at the end of each day
work to avoid severe water infiltration during rainy days.
II.2 Sealing, Filling by sealant.
 Supercast SWX shall be applied according to the instructions provide in the
annexes.
III.3 Masonry rendering, touch-ups
 Cut areas shall be plaster- rendered to the same finish as the un- altered wall
areas.
III-
Repair of Cracks at Concrete column.
III.1 Removing, chipping the existing plaster.
 The entire plaster shall be chipped to expose the bare concrete column.
 Application of bonding mortar Nitrobond SBR Latex on the entire column
area. Application instructions are provided in the annexes.
III.2 Application of new concrete plaster.
 The column area shall plaster-rendered with cement and sand mortar of 1:3
proportions.
 The plastered area shall be water-cured on twice daily basis for not less than
three days prior to painting applications.
