Time Order Words
Yesterday we filled in a chart to help me put my ideas for
beginning, middle and end of my story in order. Today I will
write each event in order. I can use time‐order words like
first, next and last to make the events seem clear.
Once there was a girl named Ivory and
she had to go get her pictures taken.
First, her mom made her take a bath. She had to
scrub behind her ears. Ivory hated washing behind
her ears!
Next, her mom made her wear a dress with tights. Ivory
HATED wearing dresses, especially with tights!
After that, they went to the picture place. It was raining
outside. Ivory LOVED when it was raining. She always
liked to splash in the puddles.
Finally, Ivory and her mom went into the picture place.
Ivory was a mess! Her dress and tights were SOAKED.
Ivories mom HATES when it is raining.
