Intervention Programme Resources
The NZ Fire Service values effective partnerships that contribute to reducing the incidence and consequence of fire. We acknowledge and
value the support we have received from other fire services over the years and offer our resources to any fire service that has, or wants to
establish, an intervention programme for children and young people. Unfortunately these resources are not available to individuals or nonfire service groups who are encouraged to approach their local fire service for support.
Our FAIP resources have been developed specifically to help promote understanding about the consequences of firelighting. They are
designed to be used in a one to one intervention between an adult and child/young person and are not used in our more general fire safety
education programmes for children. Fire Services wishing to access our FAIP resources are invited to e-mail us at FAIP@fire.org.nz
