PERSONAL PROFILE:

teaching and performing music. I have been awarded the Certificate of Teaching and
the Advanced Performance Certificate from the Associated Board of the Royal
Schools of Music and have recently completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Music
Performance at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama (RWCMD). I am
currently studying for the LTCL and LRSM performance diplomas on viola.
WORK HISTORY:
From Sept 1999 Joined Bath and North East Somerset (BANES) Music Service,
working in primary and secondary schools in the local area,
including group teaching and ensemble coaching.
From Jan 1998
Set-up, managed and play in Bath Spa String Quartet on a
professional basis. Duties include phoning and meeting clients,
organising the diary, administrative tasks, booking musicians,
advertising and promotion of the quartet, educational outreach
presentations and organising concerts.
1998 - 2002
Organised and taught a “String Days” course for children and
adults from beginners up to Grade 8. Courses took place annually
in the summer holidays.
From Sept 1992 Private teaching practice: adults and children from beginner to
advanced level, practising as a member of the Incorporated Society
of Musicians (ISM).
PERFORMING EXPERIENCE:
My orchestral experience has involved playing with Bath Philharmonia, Bath
Baroque, New Bristol Sinfonia and numerous freelance work with orchestras and pit
bands within London, Wiltshire, Somerset and Leicestershire. I have accompanied
the East London Sinfonia on two tours of Tuscany and Hampshire Sinfonietta on two
tours to the Dordogne. I have had several years of orchestral experience as part of my
youth orchestra and with RWCMD. I recently joined Bath Symphony Orchestra on
viola and I regularly play with the London Repertoire Orchestra (LRO) & the
Rehearsal Orchestra as part of my ongoing professional development. Having played
in quartets since 1998, I have a wealth of experience in playing chamber music and
performing with quartets for events and concerts. In addition, I have given solo
