Computer Lab Management is responsible for the 20 general access academic computing

CLM is looking for responsible, motivated individuals with good communication skills, a customer
service background, a willingness to learn and some computer experience.
The Computer Room Consultant (CRC) Trainee job description should be attached to this

CRCs must maintain UC Davis student status (enrolled, PELP, etc.) while working for CLM. CRCs
are required to work a minium of 12 hours per week and a maxium of 19.5 hours per week. CLM
will never schedule you over any classes or other academic commitments. CRCs are not permitted
to do homework on the job.
Expected work hours are between:
Mon-Thu Fri Sat Sun
7:30am - Midnight
7:30am - 6pm
Noon - 5pm
Noon - Midnight
Actual work hours vary from quarter to quarter as determined by your Lab Group. Not all Lab
Groups are open on weekends or until midnight. For further Lab Schedule information, please refer

Computer Room Consultant Trainee (SAIII - $9.75/hr)
Duties:
• Walk throughs: Perform walk throughs of the classroom/lab checking for nonfunctional equipment and
cleanliness.
• Provide basic computer consulting to faculty, students and staff
• Assist faculty and other instructors in setting up software and/or hardware for classes
• Assist faculty and other instructors during class times if needed
• Provide consulting on both Mac and PC platforms operating on MacOS and Windows respectively
• Assist users with IET-ATS computer classroom networking software
• Perform basic troubleshooting of hardware and software problems in IET-ATS computer classrooms
• Restore both Mac and PC computers to standard IET-ATS classroom settings
• Communicate problems about the facility and/or faculty concerns to managers and/or supervisors
• Provide professional and courteous service to all computer classroom users
• Monitor computer room activity
• Perform basic printer troubleshooting
• Perform password resets for clients as needed
• Ensure compliance of all users with UC Davis policies on acceptable computer use
• Maintain the cleanliness of IET-ATS computer classrooms and its equipment
• Ensure the security of the computer classroom equipment and facility
• Perform other duties as required for the operation of the IET-ATS computer classrooms
Requirements:
• Must follow all Computer Room Consultant Expectations
• Must have good customer service skills and experience
• Must have excellent communication skills
• Must have basic knowledge of software installed in IET-ATS computer classrooms
• Must follow and enforce CLM policies and procedures
• May be required to work when not in academic related commitments (i.e., class, labs, discussions)
• Must maintain UC Davis student status (enrolled, PELP, etc.)
• Must work between 12.00 and 19.5 hours a week
• Cannot work more than 19.5 hours a week for all University jobs combined
• Must attend yearly Boot Camp Training and other mandatory events
