Hi Ho Mustangers,
This is one of the hardest cover letters I’ve ever written. It is with a very, very heavy heart that I
have to inform all of you that Vern Snyder passed away from a heart attack over this past holiday
weekend. I have thought about writing this all week, and really did not want to write this one. Vern was a
big part of our club for about 15 years, and I watched him hustle every Mustang owner he saw. Vern was
a big part of the growth of our club as it stands today. As in most families, we didn't always see eye to
eye, but in the end he was a man I am proud to have called ”MY FRIEND”.
Vern's service will be on Monday, June 3rd from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Immaculate Conception Church
at 1023 E. Russell Avenue in Bay View. He will be buried at the V.A. in Union Grove as he was ex-Navy.
I really do not know what to say!!!!!! The board will have to look into a replacement for the V.P. spot. I
don't know exactly how, but I hope we can have an idea by the June meeting.
Thanks to all who worked the show as it was a great one with 290 cars. We cannot do a show
without all of you volunteers. It was such a great show that the following Friday Dick Doria had to get a
pace maker installed. He is at home almost fully recovered. Wayne Mudek had a bit of work done the
Tuesday after the show, and is also recouping at home.
We have a lot of outings coming up before the next meeting, so be sure to check the newsletter and
make one or two of them to share a story or two about Vern with all of us. I think he would like that!!!
That is all for now, more next month.
Yours in Stangdom,
Tom

The Wisconsin Early Mustangers
From the Pres. (Retired, that is)
May 30, 2013
It is with deep sadness that we must report the passing of Vern Snyder, our Vice President. Vern and
Debbie were long time members of our club. They were probably best noted for their recruitment of new
members and their work at our annual Venus Ford show and swap. They were also active in most of our
club events. Door County will not be the same without them.
The May 19th Venus Ford show and swap was a great success. It was not a record year in terms of
vehicles registered, however, 287 cars and trucks on site still made for one heck of a show. Our thanks go
out to all who pitched in. We made a reasonable profit, so all workers can look forward to a nice club dinner
next March.
Now is the time to get in gear for the upcoming summer season. Keep your eyes on the calendar for
coming events. There should be a little something for everybody. I hate to even mention it, but we will start
to take reservations for Door County at and after the June 24th meeting. It seems like we were just driving
back the other day.
At the next meeting I will be looking for ideas for our next technical seminar. I have decided to try
and run one when the weather is cooperative. Haven’t had much luck weather wise during our last couple
attempts. We are looking for subjects that have a broad appeal and can be presented in two to three hours.
I believe that Sunday June 16th will be the annual Les Stumpf show in Appleton. It is a nice drive up
there and a super nice show. If you get a chance, give our Fox Valley group some support.
Kitty’s run is scheduled for June 29th. Kitty and Steve Klein always do a nice job organizing that
event. Barring 90 degrees, we are planning to attend.
Once again Sharon and I hope we will have the pleasure of seeing many of you during the summer
months. Get out there and drive those ‘stangs. Just be safe.
“Keep on ‘stangin’”.

Mustang Club of America Membership
If you are a MCA member, please contact Scott Moen and give him your MCA number (Scott’s contact
info is on our Sponsors Page). Our club is a regional group of the MCA and they provide us with a
$1,000,000 liability coverage for both our Ewald’s Venus Ford show, and the Fox Valley Ford and
Mustang Club show in Appleton each year. However, to continue this relationship, they ask that all of our
club officers be MCA members, and a percentage of our club members also be MCA members. So it is
very important for us to be up to date with our MCA member list to them.
There are no minutes in this issue of the newsletter because there is not a
May club meeting after our car show …everyone needs to catch a breath.
