Telemiracle
The Connaught School Music Enrichment Super Stars have been selected to perform in Telemiracle 32 on March 1st
and 2nd in Saskatoon. Our specific performance time has not been set but we’re already practicing. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students, but it requires hard work and commitment. This trip will provide us with an excellent performance venue as well as other educational and fun activities. Because of the major expenses of bussing,
accommodations and meals, students are expected to be committed to rehearsals and all preparations. Students in
Senior Enrichment are expected to attend all Wednesday rehearsals. Students who miss more than one rehearsal
without being excused will not be going with us to Saskatoon. Absences due to illness, funerals or medical appointments need to be communicated to Ms. Putland or the absence will be classified as unexcused. I’m very excited about
our trip. I hope we can take many donations with us.

Peer Patrol
Peer Patrol training will be starting January 21, 2008. The training will be open to the grade 6 class at first. Peer
patrol is a way to learn responsibility and to help out on the playground. Each student completing the training and
working their “shifts” on the playground will earn points for their house. So, watch for those orange vests out on the
playground.
Celebrating Family Literacy Day
Monday, January 28, 2008 will be a special day at Connaught School. Students will be encouraged to come in their pj’s
and bring a teddy bear, pillow or blanket. We will reading “bedtime” stories during the morning!
In the afternoon, students in grades 5-8 will be telling a story to the little ones complete with handmade popsicle
stick characters to add to the fun. After hearing the story and talking about story telling, the little ones will get
their chance to tell the story to the older student. Hopefully the story will be shared with the family that evening.
So, don’t forget to wear your pj’s and bring your teddy bear on Monday!!
