Be able to describe the main idea, geographic origin and current location of the major
religions listed: Hinduism, Buddhism and Islam
Understand how the Chinese civilization took shape through a series of dynasties – know
about the Qin, Han and Ming dynasties, including their major achievements
Describe what the Silk Road was and where it was located
Understand the importance of the Chinese, Muslim and Mongol cultures to Silk Road trade
Be able to explain the importance of the trade networks from the Middle East to the trade
routes of North Africa – understand the importance of ideas (Islam) and goods (salt and gold)
to these trade routes

