As a sisterhood of over 250,000 college-educated women in more than 1,000 chapters around the globe,
it is essential that we take proactive steps to focus the message of service and commitment being sent
out into the community. To that end, all chapters are asked to design and produce an information
brochure for their chapters use. The brochure should be used when meeting with local elected officials,
community leaders or other service organizations.
This is an excellent opportunity for chapter members to utilize their skils and creativity! While each
chapter has the flexibility to develop a brochure that best represents their chapter, there are some basic
guidelines to follow:
At a minimum, your chaptets brochure should include the following:
· The Sorority Full Name (Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.)
. Mission of the Sorority
· Five-Point Programmatic Thrust
· Chapters Full Name
· Chapters Service Area
· Chapter Presidents Name
. Chapters Mailng Address
. Chapters Telephone Number
· Chapters Web site Address, if applicable
. Chapters Media Contact
. Chapter Demographics
o Number of Members
o Percentage of Registered Voters
· Synopsis of Chapters Programs and Projects.
Other information to consider for inclusion in your chaptets brochure:
· Names of the National Elected Officers
· Names of the Regional Director and Regional Representative
· Name(s) / Photograph(s) of the Chaptets Elected Offcers
· Name(s) / Photograph(s) of notable chapter
members
· Schedule of Upcoming Chapter Programs or Projects

Specifications
· Choose a high-quality paper in either white or cream
· The recommended color for the text is black, however, you may wish to incorporate additional
colors such as red, crimson, or violet to add visual interest and emphasis to particular segments
· At a minimum, the brochure should measure 8 W' X 11". The paper may be folded in half or
fashioned as a tri-fold. Alternately, chapters may create a brochure as large as 11" X 17" that
when folded in half, measures 8 Yi "X 11".
· The brochure may be comprised of a single sheet of paper or many pages.
Lastly, make sure that your brochure does not violate the protocol and privacy policies of the Sorority.
Use of the following is prohibited:
· The Sorority Crest
· Official Torch of Wisdom
· Secrets, passwords, signs and grips
· Written narratives or photographs of ceremonies, membership intake activities. Rule of
thumb: If sorors are donned in ceremonial robes and / or candles are lit, public disclosure of
narratives and / or photographs is prohibited
· Oath, Mottos or Mizpah
· Official Delta Songs
· Past chapter lines or "lineage"
· Internal/private chapter information
