OVERVIEW
The client specializes in a wide array of global, enterprise-wide solutions, and addresses
all aspects of the business life cycle to help clients overcome complex operational and
financial issues. The client delivers a wide array of global services including Enterprise
Improvement, Financial Advisory Services, forensic accounting, Information
Management in the corporate consulting market; bankruptcy process-management
services for large corporations; and litigation technology services for large lawsuits,
investigations, settlements, Leadership & Organizational Effectiveness, Turnaround &
Restructuring.
SITUATION
The client approached Zensoft Services for Software Testing Outsourcing and Test
Automation Consulting services for a compliance application - Volcker Portal. The
application was user data intensive and would require analysis of the data to further
use it for compliance reporting. Volker Portal is a complex legal survey application used
for identification and analysis of issues particular to banking organization under the
Volcker Rule. The web-based Portal identifies prohibited trading activities, fund
relationships and investments throughout the enterprise and gather key data and
documentation in a single, secure database. Complex Workflow and Compliance rules
that posed a good challenge for Testing. With capabilities demonstrated for a leading
stock exchange in Asia, Zensoft Services was chosen as their Software Testing Partner.
 They were looking for a team to perform intensive end to end manual testing based
on the functionality of the application. Approximately 45 modules were to be tested
and validation at various levels had to be covered.
 They also recognized the need to automate testing flows to improve speed-to-market
while maximizing the reliability and accuracy of their applications

SOLUTION
 Detailed study and analysis of SRS (System Requirement Specification)
 Work on an iterative and incremental plan for manual testing, automation and
continuous adoption of automated test cases.
 Setup robust processes for change control/ build/ release management
 Functional testing and end to end testing scenarios with user perspective in mind
 Conduct multiple rounds of manual tests to cover the additions/changes and defect
fixes
 Adoption and implementation of Qualitia to enable the client to test complex
business scenarios and execute the scripts with minimal technical knowledge
 Automate the most critical flows in the application to build confidence in the releases
 Streamline data in the automation test cases to cover all the nodes of the application
end to end
 Provide support to ever changing requirements and testing the functionalities at short
notice
 Defect Management, tracking of defects and related test cases with the help of defect
tracking tool- JIRA

Weekly Status update meeting.
Delivery of the project done in piece-meal fashion on completion of the milestones.
The artifacts were imported to the client environment over WebEx session.
The client validated the delivery on their environment and with their test data sets to
ensure that the same meets the criteria defined at the scoping level.
Any changes needed were taken up (as a change request if the same was not as per
the agreed scope earlier or as a quick fix done within the same timeline).

Daily Reporting - Daily status report including work completed, work
planned, overall engagement status, Issues which need resolution from
client side and Risks that needed to be mitigated.

Closure report was prepared at the end of each milestone and shared with
the client. An approval from the client was taken and the milestone was
marked as closed.
