Developing a Graphic Evolutionary Interface for the EOL

Encyclopedia of Life
This meeting signified the first step in collaborative efforts between
a team of Adobe Systems software engineers, the EOL and
Tree-thinking Evolutionary Biologists. The goal was to develop an
intuitive, user-friendly interface to the tree of life and EOL species
pages. Participants came from Adobe Corporation, the Field Museum
of Natural History, University of Arizona, University of California,
Berkeley, Yale University, Marine Biological Laboratory Woods Hole,
and the TED Conferences.

Colors correspond to height in the TOLWeb hierarchy,
warmer colors signify a higher branch position in the tree
For example, birds and mammals are blue with red interiorly.
