RMSST Science Team
The RMSST Science Team is a group of magnet students who compete in a
variety of science competitions and tournaments at the regional, state, and
national levels.
SCIENCE OLYMPIAD
Teams compete in 23 different events from Astronomy
to Robotics. Three different types of events are
offered: build events in which you design,
construct, and operate a device; study events in
which you prepare reference materials for a test;
and laboratory events in which you work in a lab setting.
SCIENCE BOWL
Do you like rapid trivia-style games? If so, Science
Bowl is for you. Students work in teams to buzz in and
answer questions on a variety of science topics
including: biology, chemistry, physics, geology,
astronomy, math, environmental science, and energy.
NATIONAL OCEAN SCIENCES BOWL
NOSB is also a quiz bowl type of tournament. The questions,
however, are on topics that involve the ocean: oceanography,
marine biology, and environmental science of the oceans.
ENVIROTHON
Do you like the outdoors? Participate in outdoor events
such as forestry, soils, aquatics, and wildlife.
ACADEMIC COMPETITIONS
RMSST students can also participate in a variety of
academic contests that are subject-specific.
