promotion is a result of Scott’s proven

Palmer Chiropractic Clinics
introduce three new doctors of
chiropractic
Three doctors of chiropractic have joined the Palmer
Chiropractic Clinics as faculty clinicians: Katherine Clark,
D.C.; Barbara Mansholt, D.C., M.S.; and Troy Stark, D.C.
The Palmer Clinics will host a reception open to the public
to introduce the new clinicians on Thursday, May 15, from
4 to 6 p.m. in the Palmer Academic Health Center, lobby
conference room, 1000 Brady St., Davenport.
Dr. Katherine Clark graduated from Palmer College of
Chiropractic in 2010 and has been in private practice for four
years. She has extensive experience working with children,
pregnant women, athletes, older adults and everyone in
between. Her interests include health and wellness as well
as working with and learning from special needs children.
Chiropractic techniques she uses include Palmer Package
techniques and Activator Methods.
Dr. Barbara Mansholt earned her Doctor of Chiropractic
degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1995 and
an M.S. in Clinical Research from Palmer College in 2013.
She was in private practice for 12 years and a member of
Palmer’s Technique Department faculty for 10 years. She
is interested in promoting healthy lifestyles including diet
and exercise, healthy aging and women’s health. She also
is an expert in delivering current treatments supported by
evidence-informed and patient-centered clinical practice.
Dr. Troy Stark graduated from Palmer College of
Chiropractic in 2010 and was in private practice for four
years. He also worked for two years in clinical assessment at
Palmer. Dr. Stark is focused on improving wellness through
chiropractic care and nutrition. Chiropractic techniques
he uses include Palmer Package techniques, Gonstead,
Thompson, Flexion-Distraction and Activator Methods.

Pamela S. Fritz, Knoxville, has been named manager,
compliance and securities account services, at MWA
Financial Services Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of
Modern Woodmen of America. Fritz has been employed
with the organization since February 2001 and has served as
compliance supervisor for the past 13 years.
Fritz earned an associate degree from Southern Illinois
University, Carbondale. She has obtained the Series 6, 7,
24, 53, 63 and 65 securities licenses through the Financial
Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). Fritz holds the
following designations: Associate, Insurance Regulatory
Compliance; Fellow, Financial Services Institute; Fraternal
Insurance Counsellor; and Life Underwriter Training Council
Fellow.
Amanda M. Gibb, Davenport, has been named supervisor
at MWA Financial Services Inc. Gibb has been employed
with Modern Woodmen for eight years and has served as a
compliance auditor since 2007.
Gibb earned a bachelor’s degree in communications
studies with a minor in sociology from the University
of Iowa. She has earned the Series 7, 24, 66, 9 and 10
security licenses through the Financial Industry Regulatory
Authority (FINRA). She holds the Life, Accident and Health
and Variable Contracts license in Iowa and also holds the
following designations: Fellow, Financial Services Institute
(FFSI) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
Clint J. Pogemiller, Bettendorf, has been named senior
manager of marketing and administration at MWA Financial
Services Inc. Clint began his career in November 2001. He
has served as marketing supervisor since October 2004.
Pogemiller earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from
Drake University. He also received a master of business
administration from the University of Iowa. Pogemiller
has earned the Series 6, 7, 24, 63, 65 and 66 security
licenses through the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority
(FINRA). He holds the Life, Accident and Health license in
Illinois and Iowa and also holds the following designations:
Financial Services Institute (FFSI) and Certified Financial
Planner (CFP).

Guyette Retires From Per Mar
Security Services
Dean Guyette of Per Mar Security
Services retired on April 30, 2014, after
34 years of service to the company.
Guyette began his career with Per Mar
in 1979 as the Accounting Manager and
served in a number of capacities over the
years, including Vice President of Physical
Security, Vice President of Administration,
Chief Financial Officer and most recently,
Executive Vice President and Chief Dean Guyette
Operating Officer. He has been a friend
and mentor to many and will be missed.
His co -workers wish him many years of good health in
retirement. He and his wife, Deb, reside in Davenport.

Foundation Announces Student
Award Winners
Midwest Cardiovascular Research Foundation, Davenport,
announces the 2014 recipients of the Jesse Stoakes Student
Research Program award for its 4-week summer session
beginning in May with generous funding from the Midwest
Cardiovascular Research Foundation in addition to the
Harold R. Bechtel Charitable Trust, The Moline Foundation’s
Quad Cities Diabetes Fund and the Genesis Research
Promotion Fund Committee.
Catherine Dinklenburg is in the process of completing
her junior year at Augustana College majoring in premedicine and biology with a minor in biochemistry.
Catherine is planning on continuing her education and is
aspiring to become a physician.
Thomas Harris is a graduate of Augustana College,
where he graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in
biology along with minors in chemistry and biochemistry.
Thomas plans to pursue a career in medicine.
Ashley Madison is in the process of completing her
sophomore year at the University of Iowa pursing a degree
in biomedical engineering. Ashley plans to pursue a medical
degree.
The Stoakes Student Research Program was established
in 2006 in memory of Jesse Stoakes, son of Penny and
David Stoakes, Bettendorf, who had an avid interest in
cardiovascular medicine. He died at the age of 16 of injuries
suffered in an automobile accident.
Midwest Cardiovascular Research Foundation was
established in 2002 by Nicolas W. Shammas, MD, MS, as a
501(c)(3) non-profit, tax exempt scientific and educational
foundation dedicated to heart health, education and
awareness through quality research and professional and
community education programs and projects..

Coordinator Amy Simler on her promotion
to Administrative Services Manager. Simler
is highly regarded at Bush Construction
for her positive attitude, strong teambuilding skills, and superior ability to
multi-task.
In her new role, Simler will manage

and oversee their training and the
scheduling/leveling of their workloads.
She will also coordinate administrative operational
improvements, provide team-building experiences, and
develop internal recognition programs. Simler will continue
to research training opportunities for administrative staff
and collaborate with others on software needs, training and
implementation. Plus, she will develop marketing initiatives
and explore community involvement opportunities.
Simler attended Pensacola Christian College. Before
coming to Bush Construction, she was a regional office
point person for Proliance, a construction software program,
a project coordinator trainer, as well as a marketing
coordinator.
