Harmony Schools are tuition-free, college preparatory charter schools with a strong emphasis on Mathematics, Science

First four campuses are now accepting applications for grades K through 8th for the 2010-2011 school year. All Harmony
students graduated from 8th grade will continue to High School at Harmony School of Advancement which is our new
campus and accepting applications for grades 9th through 12th. There is going to be bus transportation between the K-8th
grade campuses and the high school to help the parents who have kids in both K-8th and high school grade levels.
Harmony Schools in north Houston are rated exemplary by Texas Education Agency last year. In addition, due to the
efforts of our hardworking students, dedicated staff members, and supportive parents, Harmony Schools were able to become
some of the best schools around. Harmony Schools’ students received various awards in different competitions. Some of
these are 1st Place Individual in MATHCOUNTS, Perfect Scorers in American Mathematical Competitions, USAMO and Math
Olympiad Summer Program Qualifiers, DUKE University TIP Grad Award Winners, 1st place in Regional Science Olympiad as a
team, Grand award in Houston Science And Engineering Fair, Total 11 awards in Houston Science And Engineering Fair, 2
Young Scientist Award Nomination by Discovery Channel, 7th and 2nd place in Texas Science and Engineering Fair.
Harmony Schools are run by the non-profit sponsoring entity, the Cosmos Foundation Inc. Cosmos Foundation Inc was
founded in 1999 by dedicated educators from distinguished universities such as UT, Texas A&M, Rice, and UH. This
organization was created in order to establish Science and Math oriented open enrollment charter schools. We are offering
our students an outstanding instructional program with dedicated teachers and administrators working together to meet their
needs.

Harmony Schools are open for all students who are seriously considering getting a good
quality education.
2. What grade levels do you serve?

Four Harmony Schools will be serving K through 8th grades and One High School will be
serving 9th – 12th grades in 2010-2011 school year.
3. Do you charge tuition?

No, Harmony Schools are a public charter school and funded by state and federal

4. Do you provide extra-curricular activities?
Yes, we do provide extra-curricular activities including choir, art club, sport teams, chess
club, and many more.
5. Are the students tested to be accepted to the school?
Harmony Schools, being an open enrollment charter school, does not test students as part
of admission process.
6. Do you meet with students and parents during admission process?
Yes, we do meet with both students and parents to clearly inform them about the school’s
philosophy and goals.
7. Do you provide transportation?
Unfortunately, we do not provide transportation.
8. Do students wear uniform?
Yes, Harmony Schools are a uniform school.
9. What are the times of operation?
The classes are between 8 AM and 2:45 PM. After-school is between 3:15 PM and 5:30
PM. The school closes at 5:30 PM.
