5th Grade Assignment “An Adventure “Road Trip” Teams Project (3 days)
3 parts/ 2 weeks
Objective:
Students will select from the following “road trip” adventure:
 Rugged Survivalo Survival Boat Trip
o Mountain Pack Trip
(For example- a rugged adventure through the Everglades, or in the Amazon, or climbing the Himalaya’s)
 3-City Tour (one country)
o Culture
o Nature
(For example- choose any country in the world and take a road trip discovering the culture (people), or
nature
 Outdoor Recreation (one country)
o Winter
o Summer
(For example- skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, winter vacation, or a surfing, diving, parasailing summer
vacation)
Part 1 PowerPoint/ 15 slides
 3 Postcards (Word or Publisher)
 Travel Brochure with 3-4 stories. (using Word-2 or 3 columns)
Specific Requirements:
PowerPoint 99% photos/ no more than 10 words in the ENTIRE presentation/ you are going to talk to your
audience, and explain your trip- BE SURE TO COVER THE 3 DAYS (DAY 1, DAY 2, DAY 3)./ also
remember to tell us where you “departed”, and where you ended up….

 Neatness and Organization
 Creativity and Imagination
Postcards 4 x 6 inches/ use the ruler Use of the drawing tools/ add photos and text (keep it simple)-WE ARE GOING TO MAKE
POSTCARDS IN CLASS NEXT THURSDAY! HAVE YOUR PHOTOS READY
Travel Brochure You may use WORD or PUBLISHER- 2 OR 3 columns
 3 or 4 “stories” highlighting the trip (AT LEAST ONE MUST BE A FUNNY-SILLY STORY)
 Neat and organized- spell and grammar check.

(be creative; you all have your driver’s licenses now, and you can choose to
stay at the Ritz, or in a tent….it is your choice!
