Dear Legislator:
Upon reviewing the cuts that will occur in social services if the income tax extension is
not continued after January 1, I support the extension. If the income tax status quo is
not maintained, community services for mental health and substance use disorders will
see drastic budget cuts which will devastate residents needing services across the
state.
Hundreds of constituents you represent would be unable to access treatment, resulting
in huge waiting lists, increased hospitalizations and incarcerations and critical
medication being unavailable. Please consider supporting the Governor’s proposed FY
2015 budget as it is. Thank you.
