DEGREES OFFERED Bachelor of Liberal Arts, BLA Bachelor of Liberal Arts, BLA, with a minor/concentration area Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) majors in the College of Arts & Sciences with evening programs COURSE FORMAT PACE courses are offered in a special combination of weeknight, weekend and independent study format within a block. PACE courses are normally presented in 12‐hour blocks, arranged by theme or issue. Some blocks may be more or less than 12 hours. Internet, web‐assisted and second 8‐week courses are also available and may be part of the block. START DATES PACE courses begin on the same date as on‐campus courses. Some courses within a block may be in an 8‐week format. PART‐TIME/FULL‐TIME Most students take courses in a 12‐hour block each semester. Students may also take classes part‐time. Varying methods of course delivery within a block allow students to complete 12 hours a semester. A block may contain a course that requires students to be on campus one or two nights per week. Some blocks may consist of web‐assisted and online courses so that students would not meet on campus. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS ADMISSION PROCESS Online On‐Site Accelerated See information below under Course Format Minimum 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Application for admission/$35 fee. Official transcripts from all colleges/universities previously attended. TRANSFER POLICIES UMKC does not limit the number of credits from a community college that may be applied toward the bachelor’s degree. Students must meet the 36‐hour upper division requirement and requirements for the major. Students may earn the Associate of Arts (AA) at JCCC while satisfying requirements for the bachelor’s degree. Meeting with a JCCC counselor is highly recommended. CURRICULUM & DEGREE REQUIREMENTS Completion of 120 credit hours is required for the bachelor’s degree. Requirements for general education and major course work must be met. CREDIT FOR LIFE EXPERIENCE TUITION & FEES 2012‐2013 PAYMENT OPTIONS Not available. $361.49 per credit hour Metro Rate*. $494.29 per credit hour Midwest Student Exchange Rate. $757.01 per credit hour Missouri Non‐Resident Rate. *Students living in Miami, Johnson, Wyandotte, Leavenworth, Atchison, Douglas, Franklin, Jackson, Jefferson, Osage or Shawnee counties in Kansas are eligible to receive the Metro Rate which is the same cost per credit hour as Missouri residents. When taking 6 or fewer credit hours in the fall and spring semesters, the non‐resident fee is waived except for international students with a J‐1 or F‐1 visa. Checks/money orders.
