School Supplies 2014/2015
A note about school supplies
Class schedules for 2014-2015 will be sent home mid-August. You may
want to wait until then, or even until the opening of school to purchase
supplies. The current list of supplies may be helpful in deciding what to
keep and store from the previous year. Not all classes are included here.
For all middle school students grades 6-8
A homework folder (to transport assignments between school and home)
Ample supply of pens and pencils
Two (2) locks (for gym and grade level locker)
At-home filing system for graded work from all classes
Highlighter
Sixth Grade Supply List
English/History/General Supplies
One 3 ring binder; width = 1.5 inches
At least 8 write-on dividers
Zippered Pencil Case with three holes that fits in a binder (not a pencil box)
Black or blue ballpoint pens
#2 Pencils
Highlighters in at least two different colors
Set of at least 12 colored pencils
Pencil sharpener (small)
Ultrafine black Sharpie marker
Large eraser
Post-its; both small squares and page markers
Small amount of lined, college ruled paper
glue stick
Math
2 separate spiral notebooks
1 box assorted colored dry erase markers
1 box red pens
1 Dry erase eraser
1 Ruler with metric and standard measurement
Science
Composition book with grid paper
Spiral notebook with lined paper for class notes
7th and 8th grade English
Pencils
Pens (Blue or Black)
Lined Paper (3 whole punched)
3 ring binder (can be for my class or for several; 1 inch if solely for English, lager if for more
classes)
4 dividers for binder (more dividers if binder is for more than one class)
1 folder
USB flash drive (can be used for other classes)
7th grade History
One 8 1/2 x 11 spiral bound notebook for vocabulary.
8th grade History
1.1/2” – 2” binder (to be kept in classroom. Cannot share with other subjects)
Science
General Science Supplies for all grades:
One bound notebook with lined paper specifically for science notes
One bound composition book with graph paper for lab journal (returning students may use
theirs from previous years)
Black pens
Pencils
Facial Tissue (Kleenex)
Colored pencils (to be left in the classroom)
All Chemistry, AP Chemistry, and Physics students need the following school
supplies:
3 ring binder (1 1/2 inch)

Calculator (preferably a graphing calculator)
All Biology and Anatomy/Physiology students need the following:
One bound notebook OR 3-ring binder for science notes
One bound composition book for lab journal (you may use the same lab journal from past
science classes at Pilgrim if there is still room in it)

Color pencils or color markers
All AP Biology students need the following:

Calculator (a non-graphing/non-scientific 4 function calculator is needed for the AP exam)

ESOL Foundation Communication(students can use the literature supply for both
literature and communication)

Pen/pencil container (zippered bag or other device to keep writing utensils organized)
Lots of small index cards (for making flash cards) as needed

Small notebook for vocabulary
Ear phones/ ear buds – these are required to listen to self-recordings (student will need to
always have these on hand – if this is a problem, please provide an inexpensive set that can be
kept in the classroom and label with student’s name)
Mathematics Department
Two separate, spiral notebooks (one for notes, one for practice)
1 box of dry erase markers (bring on first day of class)
Pens (multiple colors) and Pencils
Calculator:
