The Business, Finance and Entrepreneurship Academy is a College Tech Prep initiative that introduces students to a variety
of business and financial careers. Students will have the opportunity to personalize their career path through the selection
of a minimum of four courses from the following options:
Business Foundations – Students will use technology to obtain fundamental business knowledge and skills in the three
career fields, Business, Finance, and Entrepreneurship. Employability skills, leadership and communications and personal
financial literacy will be addressed.
Financial Accounting – Students will learn the “language of business” in this course. Students will summarize and
analyze transactions into financial statements and evaluate a company’s financial performance.
Management Principles – Students will learn how to apply technology, management and motivation theories to real life
business situations. Students will learn how to manage a workforce, lead change, and build relationships with employees
and customers.
Office Management – Students selecting this course will experience the basics of office management through Early and
Advanced Placement in a business setting.

Strategic Entrepreneurship and Fundamentals of Business Administrative Services (counts as 2 courses) –
Through the operation of a class business, students will experience first-hand the challenges of being a startup business,
while taking on a variety of roles within the company.
