Dichotomy Photography
Objective: create a series of images using the idea of dichotomy. You are charged with learning how to create
a set of images involving opposites, humor, and a complex idea.
Media: Film and or alternative photographic media
Explanation: Dichotomy is defined by all intensive purposes as a split image; one or the other or two samples
that contradict. A clearer example would be to photograph and show; male or female, good or evil, dry or wet,
black or white, rich or poor.

Obvious items to shoot would include salt and pepper, on and off, and hot and cold. The more complex
possibilities such as twisted and straight, curved and flat, plain and eccentric are also ideas that would bring a
complexity to your work. Be creative regardless of the idea you choose, but more so if you choose an obvious
opposite. Research by looking at professional work that includes the dichotomy theme.
