DNA Model Project
Rubric
Students must create a three dimensional model of a DNA molecule. Students
will work in pairs to create a free standing DNA double helix. Student models must
include the following:

24 phosphate molecules (12 per strand)

24 deoxyribose molecules (12 per strand)

24 nitrogenous bases (12 per strand)

12 hydrogen bonds

Appropriate base pairs are assembled

Accurate representation of a DNA molecule
(double helix, alternating sugar & phosphates)
Key coding for each component of the DNA molecule
(ex. Blue bead = hydrogen bond)
