2. *** 4th annual Graduate Student Combinatorics Conference
(GSCC), April 12-13, Davis, CA ***
-----We would like to invite graduate students to attend the 4th annual
Graduate Student Combinatorics Conference (GSCC) on April 12-13,
2008 at the University of California, Davis.
This conference is for graduate students and their research in
combinatorics and related fields. Any graduate student is
eligible to give a 20-minute talk on their research or on any
topic they find interesting. The conference will also include
social gatherings as a chance for graduate students from around
North America to get to know others in their field.
In addition to the graduate student talks, the conference will
feature two keynote speakers this year: Ron Graham, of UC San
Diego, and Arun Ram, of the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
All students are encouraged to speak in the friendly environment
of GSCC; however, it is not necessary that you give a talk in
order to attend. Support is available for travel to the
conference, and we encourage students to not let lack of funding
be a barrier to their attendance.
More information and a registration form can be found at the
conference website:
http://www.math.ucdavis.edu/~gscc2008
Also on the website is the conference poster which we encourage
you to print out and display in your department; or, we can mail
copies of the poster upon request.
If you have any further questions, emails are welcome at:
gscc2008@math.ucdavis.edu.
We look forward to seeing you at the conference!

FOCUS
The conference will be dedicated in honor of Mike Plummer on the
occasion of his 70th birthday. Therefore, we are trying to focus
on areas in which Mike has worked, including topological graph
theory, colorings, and matchings. There will be special sessions
on Hadwiger's conjecture and on matchings, factors and
factorizations. However, talks from any area related to graph
theory, combinatorics and computing are welcome.
