Assignment
Part of your final mark in this course will be your work on a narrative film for Zoom. Each person will
plan a film though to shot list stage. Some of these films will be made as class projects in small
groups. Within each group, students will have defined and specific things that they are responsible for
(ex: directing, cinematography, editing, etc).
2 ideas
Come up with 2 ideas that you think would make a successful short narrative film
(1 – 4 min). Keep it “doable”. Make sure you are not planning something that
requires resources beyond what you have. For example, you might want to limit
the number of characters, plan for places that you can shoot (i.e. locations that
you have already), costume (if any) that you can obtain etc. This will typically be
about a paragraph long. Below is a list of ways to keep it simple:
- 1 location
- few characters
- limited time frame
- little or no dialogue
- complete story
- “do-able”

in your film.
