In recent years change within the NHS and to the way care is
delivered has seen the intensity of the working day for GPs increase.
Set in beautiful surroundings, this interactive and practical 2 day
course will provide you with skills to help you cope with the stresses
and demands of modern general practice, as well as allowing you
some time out to reflect and engage with your creativity.
Day 1
An introduction by Dr Laura Edwards, Wessex LMC followed by an
interactive session led by John Perry, Principal teaching fellow in
Healthcare Communication, Southampton University, covering;




Stress Management
Survival vs Competency
Taking Control
Personality Types
Day 2
Interactive and practical workshops led by art professionals in the
morning, covering;
 A choice of practical workshops using the creative arts to unlock
reflection and relaxation
 Mindfulness for GPs – an afternoon session looking at how
mindfulness can be used by GPs to manage personal day to
day stress led by experienced mindfulness trainers Rob Collett
and Ali Lambie.

Costs: Members of WGPET can attend free of charge but still must pay the catering contribution (see
above for details)
Non-members may be invoiced up to £15.00 per hour following the course.
Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel your booking, please contact the GP Education
Administrator (023 8120 6579) no later than 2 working days prior to the event. If notification is not
received, you will be invoiced for the full amount.
