This site introduces you to the mission or purpose of Marketing Education, also exposes
teachers and students to DECA a student organization that focuses on enhancing students
interest in marketing, management and entrepreneurship. Deca holds conventions where
students compete at the regional, state, and national levels. Successful schools at the
competitions incorporate DECA into there classroom instruction.
There are valuable resources that can be found on this site not only for educators but
also students, parents, and administrators. Teachers can find Course descriptions,
standards and competencies, textbooks, Marketing clusters & pathways, and cooperative
learning experiences. This type of information will expose teachers to all classes offered
in marketing education and allow educators to develop lesson plans that ensure students
will be exposed to and master the competencies and standards set by the state. Teachers
can gain insight into how the Perkins act affects funding for CTE programs, Perkins
funding is vital for our success. Educators are exposed to information about the

site.
Students and parents can also find valuable resources by using this site. Clusters and

assessments, college and career planning, as well as cooperative learning experiences.
This type of information is invaluable to parents and students who are trying to select a
CTE pathway. If students and parents can make an informed decision based on the
information found on the site, this will help ensure the success of students in our CTE
programs.
The information on this site will allow me to develop my classroom instruction based on
the course descriptions and standards and competencies, I can also compare textbooks to
make sure it will be beneficial to students. I will also be able to help direct students into
career selections based on interest and ability. The Perkins Act information allows me to
see how our CTE programs are funded and what I can do to increase funding for my
department. DECA information allows me to expose the kids to marketing by
incorporating it into my classroom instruction. Using all this tools and information will
provide our students with a successful and enjoyable educational experience.
