Course Outline
Course Description
This course enables students to develop generalizations of mathematical ideas and methods through the
exploration of applications, the effective use of technology, and abstract reasoning. Students will
investigate relationships to develop equations of straight lines in analytic geometry, explore
relationships between volume and surface area of objects in measurement, and apply extended numeric
and algebraic skills in problem solving. Students will engage in abstract extensions of core learning that
will deepen their mathematical knowledge and enrich their understanding.

Teachers must use strategies and evaluation procedures that include accommodations and modifications
to meet the needs of exceptional students as outlined in their Individual Education Plan (I.E.P.)
Evaluation Rules



Students are expected to complete all course work assigned to them. Homework will be checked
on a regular basis.
If a student is absent from class, it is the student’s responsibility to inquire about the work that he
or she missed.
Students are not to miss a test and/or assignment without parental communication with the
teacher.
