Bid B02-151 on Copying Services - Mathematics Materials - 6
RECOMMENDATION
That an award for copying services be made to Kinko’s for the estimated amount
of $125,625.00.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
This is a routine item. Sealed bids were solicited for copying services to
reproduce mathematics materials. Consumable worksheets in English and
Spanish, for K-5 Investigations mathematics units are to be copied and
distributed to each elementary campus by the vendor. The Investigations
worksheets to be reproduced are a resource component of the District’s
mathematics curriculum under the current textbook adoption.
Only the teacher’s versions of the Investigations workbooks were purchased
rather than purchasing for students and teachers. The teacher’s version includes
masters of worksheets that are designed for copying. Not all worksheets are
used in classroom instructions so the District can realize a savings by copying
and distributing only the worksheets necessary.
ADMININSTRATIVE CONSIDERATIONS
Mathematics staff evaluated the bids and recommend the award be made to the
low bidder. The cost per copy is slightly lower than last year. The services will be
obtained using Mathematics Department funds for consumable resources.
