My Pyramid Self Analysis
The goal of this activity is to help you analyze what you are eating. Mypyramid.gov will help
you determine if your eating habits are healthy or not. Before completing the steps on the back page, I
would like you to type a paragraph or two analyzing your food log on your own. How do you think you
did? Do you think you ate enough fruits and vegetables? Could you have cut back on fatty foods?
What about your dairy intake? Answer these questions and more before completing the next steps.
Upon completing the 25 steps for ALL 3 days, you will have 9 additional paragraphs to go with
your opening paragraph. (3 per day – 1 on your food intake, 1 on your exercise, and 1 on your energy
balance. DO NOT simply copy the analysis from mypyramid.gov. Use your own words to summarize
what the analysis is telling you.)
Your closing paragraph should be a summary. How did you do overall? Was your pre-analysis
accurate to what mypyramid.gov said? Are there any areas overall that you could improve on? Staple
this sheet to your typed analysis upon completion.

My Pyramid Self Analysis:
We are going to analyze the information that you recorded for your 3 day food and activity log. Make
sure that you follow all of the steps in order. If you cannot find your next step, please ask before
moving on so you do not get lost in the web site! You need to enter all the information that you have
recorded on your log. All of the food you ate and all of the activity you did. If you do not have your log
with you, you need to enter in a typical day of eating and activity. When finished, this site will tell you
if you are eating enough or too much in the food groups, if you are getting enough activity in a day, and
if you are eating too many calories, or not enough! Have Fun! (The bold steps are when you should
type a paragraph explaining the results.) Follow these steps EXACTLY.
