Once your pet receives his/her immunization they should take it easy, avoid extreme temperatures, and any activity that
leads to exertion. Pets, just like people, may run a fever, become sore, or have muscle aches after receiving vaccinations.
Pets may become irritable and nippy or even clingy. They may lie around, complain when you touch sore areas, hide, or
don’t want to eat. These side effects are common and usually run their course within 24-48 hours like humans without
need for further medical care. Should you notice your pet is unusually sore and uncomfortable 24 hours after vaccination,
the following can be given. If your pet is on any medication or has any known medical problem please contact your
veterinarian before giving the medication below. Do not administer any “human” over the counter or prescription antiinflammatories (Tylenol, Advil, Aleve, Motrin etc.) to your pet.
