Overview:
MHA Petroleum Consultants (MHA) is a reservoir and geological engineering consulting company providing
reservoir management, integrated field studies, reservoir simulation, geoscience, and business solutions to the
upstream oil and gas industry worldwide. MHA’s offices are located in Denver, Colorado and Bakersfield,
California.
MHA seeks a knowledgeable, highly motivated, accomplished petroleum engineer who desires a wide variety
of challenging reservoir engineering problems. The Sr. Reservoir Engineer will contribute to the consulting
services offered by MHA in particular related to reservoir simulation studies and dynamic computer modeling.
Job Duties:
 Responsible for conducting numerical reservoir simulation studies involving black oil and thermal
models.
 Build dynamic simulation models to characterize oil, gas, heavy oil reservoirs and history match these
models to available field data.
 Estimate reserves and perform discounted cash flow evaluations for property evaluations and reserves
reporting.
 Predict and evaluate steamflood and thermal recovery performance.
 Interface with business clients to manage project scope and present results.
 Work closely with other members of a multidisciplinary team of reservoir engineers, geoscientists and
engineering technicians.
Job Requirements:
 Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in petroleum engineering, or an equivalent degree in another
engineering discipline.
 Minimum five years of direct experience in petroleum engineering related work.
 Experience and proficiency with reservoir simulation software, preferably ECLIPSE and/or STARS.
 Experience in standard engineering software applications and programming codes.
 The legal authorization to work in the U.S. for any U.S. employer.
 This position requires residency or relocation to the greater Bakersfield area.
