Newspaper Article:
As the “13th Juror” you have observed the entire court proceeding against the boy—from
the case in court to the deliberations of the jury. You are now to write an article for the
New York Post that, having considered the evidence carefully, concludes with a
verdict—the verdict must be your opinion as supported by the evidence you choose to
emphasize (you DO NOT have to support the verdict of the jury from the play). You will
need to create a headline that speaks to the verdict you have arrived at. You will need to
address a minimum of 3 “big pieces” of evidence.
Letter:
Taking the role of one of the jurors from Reginald Rose’ 12 Angry Men, you will write a
letter complaining about your experience as a juror in the New York court system. Your
letter will be directed at the District Attorney for New York. You will need to address a
minimum of 3 complaints.
