Panel Speakers:
Dr. Peng H. Ang – Co-Managing Partner, iGlobe Partners
Dr. Ang is a 20-year veteran of semiconductor industry. He is Co-Managing Partner of
iGlobe Partners, an early-stage venture capital company focusing on high tech
opportunities in Silicon Valley and Greater Asia. Prior to that, he was Managing Director
for the US operations of Temasek Holdings, a Singapore-based company that manages a
portfolio of strategic assets on behalf of the Government of Singapore. From 1996 to
2001, he was the founder, Chairman and CEO of TeraLogic, a fabless semiconductor
company developing high-definition digital television chips. He began his semiconductor
career at LSI Logic in 1984, and was the founding General Manager of its Consumer
Products Division from 1990 to 1996.
Currently, Dr. Ang is a board member of Excelics Semiconductor Inc. and Kilopass
Technologies Inc. He is on the Executive Committee and Director on the board of the
Singapore American Business Association (SABA).
Dr. Ang received his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with First Class
Honors from University of Singapore in 1976. He attended graduate school at Stanford
University, where he received his Masters’ Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1980,
Master in Statistics in 1982 and PhD in Electrical Engineering in 1984.
Yorgen Edholm – CEO, Accellion
Yorgen Edholm is a Silicon Valley veteran with 24 years of Enterprise Software
expertise. Prior to joining Accellion, Mr. Edholm was President and CEO of
DecisionPoint Applications, an Analytical Applications company. Before DecisionPoint,
Mr. Edholm co-founded Brio Software and during 12 years as CEO, took the company
public and grew it to $150 million in revenues with over 700 employees and a customer
base of over 5,000 organizations.
Trained as a concert violinist, Mr. Edholm has also earned an MBA from the Stockholm
School of Economics and a Masters in Engineering Physics from the Royal Institute of
Technology in Stockholm.
David Helfrich – Managing Director, Garnett Helfrich Capital
Prior to co-founding Garnett Helfrich Capital with Terry Garnett in 2003, Mr. Helfrich
was with ComVentures, an early stage venture capital firm with over $1.2 billion of
capital under management. David was a General Partner with the firm that he and two
other founding partners started in 1997.
Mr. Helfrich focused on early stage venture investments in the communications and
networking industry. His ComVentures seed, and early stage, investments included
CoSine (Nasdaq: COSN), Entera (acquired by Cacheflow/Bluecoat, Nasdaq: BCSI),
IntruVert (acquired by Network Associates/McAfee, NYSE: MFE), Internet Photonics
(acquired by Ciena, Nasdaq: CIEN), and P-Cube (acquired by Cisco, Nasdaq: CSCO).
Prior to ComVentures Mr. Helfrich spent 17 years in various operating roles in the
communications and networking industry. His last 10 years as an industry executive
were spent starting and building four leading technology companies. David was one of
the first twenty employees at Newbridge Networks, Inc. As AVP Marketing, he led
product management for the flagship Newbridge products from the very early days of the
company through its successful IPO in 1989. Mr. Helfrich left Newbridge in 1989 to join
Ascend Communications as VP Sales & Marketing and as a member of the founding
team. Following Ascend Mr. Helfrich was a part of the founding team that started
Centrum Communications, a remote access company that was sold to 3Com less than one
year after receiving venture funding. David remained at 3Com as Vice President of
Marketing, and as member of the Operating Committee, until he and seven others spun
out from 3Com to start Copper Mountain Networks where he served as VP Sales &
Marketing.
Earlier in this career, Mr. Helfrich held various sales and marketing roles with Motorola
(Codex Division) and Infotron Systems, an early data networking pioneer. David has an
M.B.A from the University of California Los Angeles (UC.L.A.) and a Bachelor of
Science degree from California State University, Chico.
Casey McGlynn, ESQ – Partner, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati
Casey McGlynn is a partner at the law firm of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati and a
member of the firm's Policy Committee. His practice focuses on the organization,
funding and corporate representation of companies in the information technology, life
sciences and telecommunications industries.
Casey is a nationally recognized leader in the representation of startup and growth
technology companies. He assists his clients in meeting their financing needs through
introductions to an extensive network of angel investors, financiers, venture capitalists,
corporate partners and investment bankers. He has experience representing dozens of
companies that have made successful initial public offerings and secondary offerings.
Aside from his responsibilities at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati Mr. McGlynn is a
Managing Director of Angel Investors LLP. Notably, Angel Investors were the first
investors in Google as well as a number of successful technology startups.
Casey is a frequent contributor to magazines and newsletters focused on angel and
venture investing and speaker on issues relating to the organization and funding of new
ventures. Additionally, he was recognized in the 2005 edition of Chambers USA:
America's Top Business Lawyers for "his life sciences, information technology, and
telecom expertise."
Casey received his J.D. and B.A. degrees, with highest honors, from Santa Clara
University. Casey joined Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati in 1978 and has been a
member of the firm's executive, nominating and compensation committees.

Mr. Yam is the CEO and Executive Founding Member of Sensei Partners LLC, a Menlo
Park, CA venture capital firm. He founded the firm after 25 years as an economic analyst,
investment banker and investment manager with among others the Federal Reserve,
Lehman Brothers, Security Pacific Bank, Citicorp Investment Bank and Matthews
International Management.
Mr. Yam established Sensei Partners LLC (“Sensei”),www.SenseiPartners.com, an
emerging-stage venture capital firm in 2000. Sensei Partners acquires equity interest in
technology companies and, accelerates their enterprise development through a proprietary
value-oriented corporate building process, The Sensei Methodology®, which Mr. Yam
developed. Sensei has been instrumental in the development of several technology
enterprises within the domains of information technology, telecommunications and eBusiness. In 2001, supported by the Albertan government, and Alberta’s corporate
community Mr. Yam co-founded the Alberta California Venture Channel, which focuses
upon investment and, enhancing the probability of success and sustainability for cross
border technology enterprises in Alberta, Canada and the U.S.
Prior to Sensei Partners, Mr. Yam served as President and COO of Matthews
International Management from 1990-1996. Aside from his responsibilities in the
establishment of Sensei Partners and Matthews International Management, he has been
integral with the founding of several other firms in the technology and financial sectors.
Mr. Yam is an internationally published author of articles regarding investments,
‘Company Building’, and technology enterprise development and, has been a guest
speaker at numerous global investment management forums. He is a director of the
Advisory Board of Santa Clara University's Leavey School of Business and, an Executive
Fellow at SCU’s Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurism (‘CIE’) where he was
instrumental in the founding and early development of the CIE. He also teaches and
lectures on entrepreneurship at SCU’s Leavey School of Business where he carries the
distinction as the Dean's Executive Professor of Entrepreneurism.
