Economics Vocabulary Project Explanation
Purpose of the assignment: To show me that you understand the terms listed in the assignments
below by using the word in examples from current events.
Pick a recent current event (last 6 months) in which you will also
show the meanings of the vocabulary words.
The assignment can be shown in one of the following ways:
1. Comic Life – create a story out of the current event that shows all of the vocabulary and
examples needed for the assignment.
a. Must use all of vocabulary words and examples on the planning sheet.
b. Must be at least a full page
c. Story must clearly relate to the current even topic
d. Must be printed in color.
e. Must underline the vocabulary words in the text.
f. Must CLEARLY show that you understand the definition of the word through
example, NOT WRITING OUT THE DEFINITION.
2. PowerPoint – create a persuasive PowerPoint that shows you understand all of the terms
shown on the Planning Sheet and the current event that you have chosen
a. Must use all of vocabulary words and examples on the planning sheet.
b. Must be at least 6 slides (one being a title slide)
c. Story must clearly relate to the current even topic
d. Must underline the vocabulary words in the text.
e. Must CLEARLY show that you understand the definition of the word through
example, NOT WRITING OUT THE DEFINITION.
3. Photo Story – create a documentary (using Photostory or i-movie) using still movies and
a voice over to show examples of the things on the planning sheet.
a. Must use all of vocabulary words and examples on the planning sheet.
b. Story must clearly relate to the current even topic
c. Must CLEARLY show that you understand the definition of the word through
example, NOT WRITING OUT THE DEFINITION.
d. Must be transferred to my dropbox or computer on the due date
4. Children’s book – create a children’s story that discusses the current event that you have
chosen, but also uses the terms on the planning sheet.
a. Must use all of vocabulary words and examples on the planning sheet.
b. Must be at least a 6 pages, including a title page
c. Story must clearly relate to the current even topic
d. Must be illustrated
e. Must underline the vocabulary words in the text.
f. Must CLEARLY show that you understand the definition of the word through
